best SFF barebone

is the spdif in the front input only or can it be set to output on the soltek. if not then there is no spdif out?

also, on the soltek (or most of these 865pe based sff with dual channel support), can i run it with PC2100 single channel dimm (Micron)? will i have to bump thje FSB or CPU clock speed down? i plan on using p4 2.8 800FSB with HT.

Don't do it, man; spend the money and get some PC3200 so you don't cripple your performance! A pair of sticks, too, if you can afford it, for that little extra bit of performance.

I know, but i just wanted to know if it's possible, so that i can use it temporarily until memory prices go down.

yes the single stick will work . OK temp .
the only spdif appears to output only. not using mine so had to find the manual.

one review i read said the spdif is in/out while the chart from matrix.sfftech.com shows that it is spdif input only . Someone please confirm what spdif is on this before i order. i am using for htpc so definitely need spdif output.

Okay, i was so close to buying this, but since i am doing this for htpc, i saw something else that was more intriguing:

yes, i would have to find a motherboard (mATX), PSU, etc.

can i make this as quiet as a Soltek? if so, what reasonably priced PSU, motherbpard, and case fans do you recommend?

or should i stick with the soltek?
