I am looking for a WS monitor, around 24" that can do 1920x1080.

What is currently, the must-have/best-bang-for-buck model these days?

Current monitor is a DELL 2001FP.

i got the Dell S2309W for $160 taxed and shipped 3 months ago during 1 of their sale in Canada. It is only 23" but you can't go wrong with 160 squid.

I purchased a HannsG 28" LCD from costco for 329 plus tax/shipping. I'm loving it.

Right now it is 349 plus tax/9.99 shipping. Any dead pixels or problems and you can love on the costco return policy.

I have this Monitor, and man it is awesome. It looks great. No dead pixels 2ms response time and 40K Contrast Ratio-- I bought mine for $329.00 when they first came out. I purchased the 28" Hanns LCD first and It sucked, looks bad in comparison. Just check it out @ the link above.

Keep in mind that 40,000:1 is dynamic contrast and not a reliable measurement...

I currently am using a BORROWED Gateway due to the fact that my Dell 2005 monitor died. Seems like they only last about 3 years or so...this is the second one to die for me. How does the Dell 2409 compare to my 2005 from Dell? The 2409 is not listed as an "ultrasharp" so I am wondering if I will be losing some PQ by going with the 2409.Was thinking about getting the Acer H243Hbmid also....the Dell ultrasharp 2408 looks like it might be the right choice...probably same type of PQ as my 2005 but with more real estate.

I have the 24" version its great for gaming,mine had no dead pixels,no lag, ,very minimal backlight bleed ,almost perfect for a TN panel .

I bought two of these , and I'm really happy with them. Haven't done a lot of gaming on them yet though, but they're fine for everything so far.

VGA/DVI/HDMI/HDCP. Comes with all three cables too, but the cables are only 4' long, not the standard 6'. So I used my own cables with it.

i have said monitor and it's simply amazing. i wanted it for watching BDs and other media, as well as high res gaming, but since i wear glasses i figured i would get a bigger panel so i can see everything a bit better. the benefit is it also fills up my entire viewing space, and it was an incredible value for the price. if you are just looking for a cheap 1920x1080 or 1200 though, a lot of the new 16x9 23 inch monitors are running sub $200 (that acer one seems to be really popular), so you could probably pick up 2 of those for what i paid for mine, it would just be a lot smaller
