The GeForce3 has no competition at all, except probably in the 2D quality area. Haven't seen the 2D on a GF3 though.
It's not much faster than the Ultra, but it is a bit, and it's feature set is huge. No games use most of it's impressive features yet but they are still cool to have for the future.

Personally I wouldn't pay that much for a video card...but it's the best. If you consider price I'd take a Radeon 64MB Vivo or maybe a GF2-Pro. But for raw power & feature set the GF3 is unmatched.

Price range?

For gaming cards, GF2 Pro's are a steal right now for around $190 shipped. I got one yesterday. Does 240/466 with no trouble, 120 fps @ 1024x768x32 all options maxed in Q3A demo001.

GF2 Ultra's are around $250, & GF3's are $400.

if your gonna upgrade soon, mind if I take that off your hands when you do? btw, inthe hotdeals section $225 for a gf2ultra, get that if your buying right now instead of the gf3, by the time games are optimized for the gf3, faster cards will be out that will support the features. but how much $ do you want for the 32MB DDR gf1 I presume? or a trade of some generic RAM pc-133 cas3, not tested at cas2, plus a wee bit o'cash?
