Best way to monitor temperatures...

hey all
what's the best way to monitor your cpu and mobo temperatures? straight from the bios? or is there a program in windows that does an accurate job? also, if u wanted to check your temps right after some hardcore gaming, would u just reboot the system immediately after and check from the bios?
