I downloaded this patch hoping that it will cure a rare BSOD in the nvdisp module that has made the game unplayable for me. BSOD != software problems. Your video card is unstable. Stop overclocking, or don't overclock as high.

I've never overclocked my video card, and it is stable across all other games, including COD, COD2, F.E.A.R., UT, BFV, America's Army, and others. Perhaps your next offhand assumption made with too little information will be correct, though. Never know, you may get lucky.

It is absolutely possible for software to cause BSOD errors, or at least uncover them. Those errors arise from kernel mode drivers, but the drivers themselves can be prodded into instability by software. The real situation is far too complex to be covered by your simplistic assertion.

I wasn't being completely serious, just kinda surprised to see so many players playing multiplayer on them. They are all decent single player games but I think the MP is very lacking. And MoH is just way too old, what a joke the online play was when I played it like 5 years ago. And CoD2 has worse MP than CoD1? A friend was playing CoD1 online and it was easy to tell its not a game focused on MP. Its nowhere near as smooth and balanced as something like Day of Defeat. And those games generaly can't handle large numbers of players very well. The hit detection seemed weird too, just kind of shoddy gameplay overall in multiplayer.



Now on topic, why the hell is there no torrent links for the patch? I need the full 1.4 patch and at 530mb, the fastest HTTP download I found is like 40k/s. My ethernet cord gets unplugged way too easy when ppl are fvcking with the router, so I prefer torrents to get game demos and large patches for resume features (plus its usually faster than HTTP).

I played with 1.4 for about three hours last night. No BSODs, no CTDs. I think the CTD I experienced the night before was due to having left AA/AF forced to 4x for another game. Once I set back to app. controlled things seemed to smooth out. I do have SKP issues with the Audigy again, which had previous gone away in an earlier patch, but I can live with them as long as the game is stable. Of course, this doesn't mean that the BSOD I was primarily interested in seeing solved is actually solved, as it could be quite intermittent. But overall 1.4 seems like an improvement.

Road to Jalalabad seems like a fun map, kind of a mix of Karkand and Shongua.

everything seems to be moving towards huge ass maps with slow gameplay. i thought i'd liek that style when i 1st saw bf2 but i was wrong, i can't stand it, or at least the bf2 implementation of it. the fast paced smaller maps games are more fun imo.

64 player server you might as well even bother to spawn because as soon as you do, you're dead. or you can't survive going anywhere because of all the vehicles, snipers, and everyone else. i like to play games where i have a chance of living for more than 30 seconds.

playing for more than 30 seconds is not a problem after you get used to the game. if you don't like the game that is cool, so be it, but it offers what you are looking for in a game. how much time do you have in it?

i haven't played in so long i don't remember anymore. i played heavily when it 1st game out for about 2-3 months. then it really died down because i started to hate the game.

I've played about six or eight hours now on the 1.4 patch, haven't seen any increase in server lag, the server browser works as well or better than before, and my crashing issues seem to be a thing of the past. I won't really believe the BSOD is gone for good until a month or so has elapsed, but so far so good.
