BF3 Fans, Campaign or Multiplayer?

I feel like they have not created a good single player campaign in an FPS since Call of Duty 4. COD4 for me was marvelous, I still go back once in a while to play the game again--great story and set pieces, and then the FPS games pretty much devolved from there. I am not sure how it's so challenging for the developers to create a good single player campaign in an FPS game.

Been playing multiplayer for a couple days now. Its fun and challenging but for some reason I can't get into it like I did with CS:S years ago. Not sure if its a game I'll play for more than a couple weeks, pity too as I was exited to get it.

I never even finished the single player game.

But I have over 100 hours in multiplayer and love it. Its not perfect, but its the best shooter out right now. Although there are some things that I liked more in BC2.

64 player servers are basically spawn killing orgies sometimes so I agree avoid them but also as others have suggested you will want to group up with people on vent.

That was the beauty of BF2 single player, there was no story to follow. They gave you a map with all the toys to play with and you captured the flags. Then you also had the mod community to make even more maps/weapons/vehicles. Now single player is following a linear path to the end with limited weapons and vehicles.

And they make you play within the bounds of the level you are on instead of using the entire map as you please. I am playing ghost recon 2 at the moment (worth the $2.50 I paid) and if you do not follow how they want to funnel you to the next area you get yelled at to stay in the zone.

It is true that the bots were not the best challenge in the world. But if I wanted to fly a jet, helicopter or dive a tank I could. And you could also use any weapon you wanted.
