BFG 6800GT Not working

I just got this AGP BFG 6800GT and when I install it into my computer, it won't power on. I get a few spins from the fans, a light or two, and then nothing. When I put in my old videocard, the system starts fine. Here's my system:

Barton 3000+
EPoX EP-8RDA3+ with the nforce 2 Ultra 400 chipset
1 GB Geil PC3500 Ram
480W Thermaltake Purepower

Any ideas on what could be going on?

Did you plug the extra power connector into the 6800GT?

yes i plugged the power in

Could be the video card since it worked fine before wiht out the 6800GT. I cant a a power problem bc he has a 480W psu that is plenty

Return and get a new one... seems like the best bet

tried all the rails and no dice

gonna try it out in a different system and see what happens

I've also been emailing bfg tech support back and forth, will have an answer soon I'm sure

What mobo are you using? Some have an AGP failure light under the AGP slot.

I'd just RMA it to BFG. Complain alot, and maybe they'll give you an Ultra (like eVGA)

Well, good news. I tried it on my buddies new mobo and it works just fine. Luckily I was already planning on upgrading my mobo and cpu in the next 2 weeks. So, I just have to wait until then.

In case you were wondering: I used the exact same psu. The only thing different was the motherboard.

Sounds like a PSU issue to me. Even if you have a decent one it may be going out on you. What kind of PSU was in your friend's system?

It was mine, I took my psu and used it on his motherboard. I wanted to see what would happen if I change one thing at a time. Motherboard change did the trick.

so is this all resolved???? it happened to me with my old psu, i just took out everything that i didnt need to run my computer to narrow down the problems. im not saying its ur psu but taking everything u dont need to boot with out will definately help narrow down the problem
