I just built my computer a few months back and I have been getting alot HDD problems with it.
Usually after I reinstall windows (worked for me very well on my old computer usually didn't give me too much problems), my HDD will screw up and lose all my data. Like a few of my files here and there will definately get corrupted and can't be opened.
And each time I restart my computer, scandisk will run itself and recover all my orphan files (can somebody explain to me what they do?) and when I finally get into windows, all my files get corrupted. Music, pictures, videos. All can't be opened.
Once or twice is fine. But it keeps escalating to more and more files each time I restart my computer. Which is like ****ing irritating. Then maybe it dies down after happily removing 80-90% of my data in 360GB of HDD. Usually leaving the data I've backed up and corrupting and/or deleting those I don't usally have.
After I try to reinstall windows again. It happens. Again. And a few hundred GB just dissappears just like that.
I have two HDDs, 160GB & 200GB, and I have sent them both in for RMA twice each. And each time they came back the problem occurs again. So I doubt it's my HDD anymore. I've also changed the damn cable.
So what the hell is wrong with my computer? They guy who RMA my HDD said it may be my motherboard. I'm using a MSI K8N Neo4-F.
