I have buy the parts and bring it to local computer store, they build the rig for me, tested Run it and it all goes good such as memory test, 3D mark 05 etc.

No window 98/XP are installed.

When I bring my rig home and connected to CTR monitor, all fans are lighted up and working fine, there is also the beeb* sound when the comp start (which is normal according to the local computer store), but the monitor won't show anything, its all blank (or screen is completely black). So I went to my friend's house to and test my system to see if it is just my Old DELL PC monitor hate my new rig.

My friend's monitor is Samsung CTR and same results happen, screen is black. (my friend said even this is a fresh computer with no window xp installed, there will be at least some thing show up at the monitor, not completely black).

What shall I do? What is wrong with my new rig since memory test and 3Dmark05 all run good? Please help.....I am really frustrated.......I have waited for a month for this computer to arrive and spend alot on it....I don't want it breaks.....

Uhm... maybe its this:
Possibly, you got a motherboard with integrated video AND these dudes installed an aditional AGP card on your system. Maybe you are pluging it on the wrong connection?

Its an idea that just occured. Silly things like these do happen. Also, if it doesn't void waranty, I suggest you open your case, and check if everything is placed correctly and tight. Press the memory modules, the video card, etc.

They run the test b4 they put the stuff in the case. they install the ram, cpu, video cards etc and put them on the table first, then test it then make sure everything is all right, then they build the rig. But how they did it I have no idea.

my motherboard is DFI lanparty Ultra-D.....I don't think it has integrated video....since my video card is PCI-E, and DFI lanparty are ONLY PCI-E express......so.....they should match. I believe everything is placed correctly. The reason I let the local store to build it for me (since they sell computer rig to others) is because I have no exp building one myself.

they still need an os to install and run 3dmark.

anyway, did you try reseating the card?

other than that, if you paid for them to set up and test the system bring it back and tell them to show you it working in the case. they may have shgorted something, improperly installed something, could be anything.

I try to install win98 (friend took my xp cd n still won't return it....), it won't work. I call the local comp store, they said some hardware may not able to install 98 due to 98 is a very old program. So I go to my another friend's house n try to install winXP. He experience the same problem I have, the monitor goes completely blank. He said even reinstalling the fresh XP or 98 the monitor will show something, but it won't show anything at all.........so XP can't be installed.

If it were only a lack of operating system, the machine would still post and give you an error message to insert a system disk.

I suspect either the video card or the motherboard are at fault. I'd suggest trying a different video card, and if that doesn't work, I'd bet it's the mobo.
