Bios help

I just finished putting my new system together and want to update the bios before I install windows. I have an a8n32 sli with bios rev. 903.

I have made a bootable floppy and there is NO room for the new bios. I have room for the AFUDOS utility. Making a bootable floppy puts several files on there which takes up most of the space, the new bios update is 1Mb in size and there is only 800k left on the disk, AFUDOS is 48k.

According to the book I need a bootable floppy and then need to copy the updated bios along with AFUDOS to the floppy.

I hope someone has a solution before I go mad. LOL.

I recently built a new system as well. I?m using the Asus a8n SLI Premium board, but the BIOS update should perform the same. You can update the BIOS several ways, but I?ve updated the BIOS several times using the following procedure:

? Make a Backup of Current BIOS on Floppy Disk
? Verify File Copied to Floppy Disk
? Copy new BIOS for your Motherboard from Asus Site ? Should be a file with a .BIN file extension ? ex. 1011-001.BIN
? Format Floppy Disk
? Copy New BIOS to Formatted Disk
? Verify BIOS Copied to Floppy Disk
? Place Floppy Disk with .BIN File Only in Floppy Drive
? Reboot or Power On System
? Press ALT-F2 During Boot Up
? BIOS Should Auto-Update ? Follow Onscreen Prompts
? Verify New BIOS Version Upon Reboot

Just make 2 disks, a boot floppy and another floppy containing the flaah util and BIOS. Boot up with the boot floppy, when its done, take it out and put in the BIOS floppy disk. Run the AFUDOS utility to backup the esisting floppy and flash the new one.
