BIOS recovery problem

Hi,
I'm using a E6400 on P5W, I tried to clear the CMOS before installing a new bios file
by issuing a hard restart during flash. The problem is although I have saved
the new bios file in my usb drive, and I also have the product CD, when the system
reboot, it found the file in usb drive, but only gave a few beepings, then keep searching
for CD-ROM, and then said it couldn't find a CD-ROM !
Now I am screwed, couldn't even boot my system.
Someone please help me.

clear the cmos. flick your psu switch off. find your lcd battery on your motherboard and near there is a 2 pin jumper over 3 pins move the jumper to the other position for 5 secs them move it back then turn the pc back on you now have factory settings again.

when im overclocking and i go too high voltage and no post i just flick the psu switch 3 secs then flick it back and turn on at front and it recovers back with your settings still the same so you need to reduce to have some success.

Did you ever have any luck? Just a few ago my p5b d died after making changes in the bios. Have jumped the cmos several times but no sign of life. My only other alternative is to take the battery out, but I don't know if that would do any more than just shifting the jumper.

Asus boards have a built in bios recovery system. Just unplug your PSU for 30 seconds and plug it back in. Unless you have totally cooked your bios, it will reset to factory defaults and boot.

Holding down the <INS> ket during a reboot will force a boot to BIOS.

Billb2, I had done that before with no luck, but it worked today, just a few minutes ago! IT'S ALIVE!!!

btw, holding the insert key while booting is something done with AMD/ n force boards; the p5b manual never mentioned this trick.
