And why shouldn't it be a reason? For some of us, it is one of the main reasons.Originally posted by: bretto
They are backing off on the DRM stuff and say that they will completely remove it soon. It was stupid of them to do it the way they did, but it shouldn't be a reason to not buy the game IMO.

Xbox is built on a DRM platform.
That is why they ban users for modding their machine.

I'll buy it when they remove the spyware DRM garbage from it.

Is there a website I can go to where they email me when it is removed? Because I'm done buying things based on "soon" promises.
The revoke tool doesn't get around the DRM. It simply resets the "in use" flag. However, this tool requires certain things to be the same. It still is a PITA.Originally posted by: Modular
Tweakguides has a link to the Activation Revoke Tool. This should allow you to reinstall the game. Also, if you buy the game through Steam, the Steam application takes care of the Deactivation of the CD key on its own when you uninstall or change hardware. This type of DRM is ridiculous and is one reason why many people didn't buy this game, and understandably so. Hopefully other developers get the message. Now that the tools are out there to get around the DRM, there should be no hindrance to buying a copy though. I haven't played this game, but I certainly intend to. Just waiting for prices to drop while I enjoy the HL series and TF2/Portal.

When they revoke the stupid blacklisting of legit programs on your system, then it will be time to buy.

What exactly does this DRM stuff do? I'm about to pull the trigger on this one but not sure if it will complicate my system
