Pretty deep into the game now. Can't say where as it would spoil things. This one is a GOTY contender imo.
Me too - absolutely fascinating to look around at everything - it's a genuinely unique environment. I think this is the first game where I've been baptized and then serenaded by a barbershop quartet.Playing it on highest settings with a GTX480 and it runs just fine. I have to say once you step into the city, it's pretty damn cool. There's a clown juggling that looks down right lifelike standing right next to him. Been playing for about 40 minutes and just enjoying exploring.
I'll probably wait until this is cheap. Didn't think the original Bioshock was as good as everyone said it was. Skipped part 2 as well.
I get pretty high performance, but I do notice spikes where my framerate will drop to half or less. It seems to happen when I'm running around, so it might be some issue of loading new things in or something along those lines.
It also seems that you can skip the movies if you watch them once.
I manually edited the ini to turn off mouse acceleration
And the save system kinda blows...I was at the part after I killed the fireman, and killed all the guys after that. I quit out to check on the mouse settings again, and when I came back in the loaded all the way back to where you first get a pistol.
And whats the deal with the achievements? Seems like you get them for doing nothing...and its like 1/75, 1/20, etc. Never seen that before.
I think I will wait for someone to put out a PC tweak guide. This might be an interesting game, but I'm too annoyed to play atm. hahaha...the sensitivity is so off from what I'm used to that Windows now feels weird.
Isn't mouse acceleration in the keyboard & mouse section of the options?
The game only saves when you get that swirly circle with the "Saving Profile" text next to it in the top right corner. When you go to quit, the game will also warn you by listing out the time of your last save. Although, I don't recall it listing the current time anywhere, so you'd have to hit shift+tab to see the Steam overlay if you're not exactly sure what time it is. To let you know, you needed to go across the bridge into the restaurant for it to save your game.
The X/Y is just a progression-based achievement. In other words, you need to do the action Y times to get the achievement, and you just performed it for the Xth time. I think there's one for scrounging money from something. I haven't really looked, but I've gotten somewhere around 20/200.
The mouse sensitivity is rather high. I have it turned down really far in the settings, but it seems a bit faster than you would suspect. I might just turn my mouse (Logitech G700 on 3/3) down a notch while I'm in Bioshock, which should help.
Ugh, someone said they completed the game in 7 hours.

People managed to complete the new TR in 3.5 hours. It took me 18 If I can get 15-20 hours out of this game, that's a perfect length for me for a single player game.
Has anyone verified if the PC version has controller support? I am assuming it does but would like to know ahead of time.
It does, out of the box. With Xbox buttons showing. Works great!
