You want to make some real money with crypto? Here's how:

1) Sign up for a Coinbase account
2) Watch all the promotional videos for the various shitcoins they're promoting. Take the quiz, and get about $6 worth of the various shitcoins as a reward for watching them. There is about half a dozen of these videos for different shitcoins now.
3) Sell the various shitcoins for cash. Yeah, you'll lose about a dollar in commission by selling each one. But, it's better than holding onto a shitcoin and watching it go to zero over the next year. Trust me on this.
4) Cash out your holdings. Congratulations, you're now about $30 richer for about 90 minutes of "work". Better yet, you're not going to be holding the bag when Coinbase eventually gets hacked and "loses" all of your crypto.
5) Alternately, you could buy a cryptocurrency that might actually hold its value like Bitcoin or Ethereum, but then you still have to worry about Coinbase getting hacked and "losing" all your crypto.

Coinbase seems to have lowered the reward for new coins from $6 to $3. Considering that it costs a dollar commission to sell them, it's no longer worth the effort.

I noticed the crypto currency question on the 1040 this year.
And, read today any transactions over 10,000 are to be reported.
( thats like one share of bit-coin ? )

Anyway, I'm not invested.
But, can anyone tell me how ( briefly ) the IRS treated the crypto currency questions ?
Taxed or not ?

Taxed like capital gains.

It looks like the correction that I was expecting last year finally happened, but it took a lot longer than expected this time

Are the prices now higher or lower than back then? I'm pretty sure prices now are still higher after the correction. So you've pretty much been wrong the whole time and still are wrong. Until the prices are lower than when you were calling for the crash, you'll always be wrong.

For me to be "fully" right, the price of Bitcoin needs to drop below $20,000. I doubt that's going to happen, though, because there seem to be some whales who keep buying more Bitcoin once it gets below $31,000.

I was right when I said that the price of Ethereum was due for a crash when it got around $4,000, though, so I nailed that one.

So did you sell out of your entire ETH position at around $4k? If not, how did you nail it?

Definitely wise to keep some IMO. PoS is soon TM. Also, buy the dips

Yeah, I still like Ethereum more than Bitcoin. The Ether team seems to be working harder to improve their transaction speed and reduce their transaction fees, while decreasing the amount of electricity needed to keep the blockchain running.

Not my entire position, no. You can't argue that I was wrong about that one, though.
I don't remember you pounding the table and telling everyone to sellout of ETH at $4k.

I don't care if you were right or wrong. Broken clock is right twice a day. I have my own investing thesis and risk management. I don't pretend I'm smart enough to call the top or bottom. Cryptos are my insurance.

What's your take on this ERGO coin. I was looking for something to mine after eth / or to invest in and this one caught my eye.

FTX bankruptcy

A year later ... what are your " feelings " about crypto now ?
( I'm still trying to understand the " value " of this intangible asset )

Ether 1,344.33 USD now

Don't want to wade into the anti-crypto thread? That's where all the fun is.

Anyone remember when dogecoin first came out? Remember how easy it was to mine a million of them? And they had dogecoin faucets too? I think you could get a couple hundred at a time lol. Man I wish I had kept some and not sold everything so early. Oh well. At least it is still a win.
