I just bought a KT-424. For the price you really can't beat it. The 80mm fans won't be any louder than your other system fans. It does have a control knob underneath the front panel if you want to turn them down. Kinda wish the knob was on the outside but it could be with a simple modification. As far as that goes, taking the front panel off is as easy as just pulling on the bottom of it and then snapping it back into place when your done. I don't have any complaints so far. I paid $88.95 plus shipping from ZZF.

hmm, i already have a 4 channel fan controller.
is it possible for me to connect the front fans to my controller ?
meaning is it possible to disconnect from the 'oem' fan controller?

i used to have 4 rocking switch on my old case,
i drilled 4 holes on one of the 5.25" bay cover , which was made out of plastic.

now KT-424's bay covers are aluminum. will i be able to cut a clean cut hole into this thing?

any suggestion? I really need to put my LED rocking switches on

Is that "rocking switches" your fan controller you were talking about? If you were spending that much on a case, why not get a more modern fan controller? Here's a cheap black one (made out of aluminum, no less) that lets you do variable 7-12v and is backlit in blue for some bling-bling: SVC $13

I was looking into the Kingwin case... really like it except... wish it used 120mm fans. My current tower cases all use 120mm fans and I like the high airflow/low noise.

If you need to cut square (or rectangular) holes, a Dremel or other die grinder would probably work best. A carbide bit (from the Dremel 9000 series) or a cutting wheel would cut that stuff like butter at a relatively low speed - ~10k or less. Just lay it out correctly and take your time.
. Or perhaps you could start with something like this Silverstone adapter bracket: http://www.svc.com/sst-fp51-b-41.html and not have to mess with cutting up your nice KW filler plate.

hmm, i kinda figured out the way to put the switches...

i actually finished changing the case. not 100% done but up to the point where i can use my computer.

it was a very easy process if I wasn't struggling with 'fan controller' and my rocking switch bay.

1. my fan controller is not secure.. reason is because it's not long enough to screw or tighten it to the bay. i think i may have to buy a bigger fan controller or something...

2. i have solved my problem with the rocking switch bay, by just using the old plastic bay cover from my old case. I actually had to use "tape" to secure it a little.
the switches are not in use right now, since i took out all the cathode lights. but once i get new sets of cathodes, i will be setting them up.

3. case fans are hard to change. they are mounted with some plastic pieces. i haven't gotten the new fan yet, so when i get it, i will be changing it.

4. Stock fans are loud without the fan controller.

let's see... i will be posting some pictures...

more updates to come

I was going to suggest trying to use the plastic switch plate in the new case. A drill bit for metal would probably work better in aluminum - you can get them shanked down to fit a normal sized drill.

You need to chop your pix down to under 30kB each. I use IrfanView takes me about 10 seconds to chop any size pic down to size for using on the web. Have pity on those of us still using dial-up...

wonho: i'm having the same problem mounting my 5.25 fans because the bays are stupid! they use automatic sliding brackets and are meant to be used with optical drives or hard drives enclosures. If I were you i'll take some double sided tape and tape the sides... you wouldn't need too much for to hold it in place
