Black wheels on white Tiguan

I think it would look fine, but aesthetics are always a bit subjective to personal taste.

I was going to comment that the black might show dirt a bit more than the matte silver wheels, but the vehicle is white anyway, so.../shrug

I never got into spending money on wheels beyond factory alloys.

I suppose I never cared enough about other people's cars or felt any kind of envy to think it was important. I mean, I like having nice vehicles...but newness wears off quickly and $1200 is a lot of booze or plane tickets to somewhere warmer than here.

Nothing to do with that. It can make financial sense to have separate winter wheels with winter tires ... mounting and balancing here is at least $60, twice a year. Instead I can swap my wheels in the garage in 10 minutes and pay nothing, and not risk my wheels getting damaged by tire shop people.

Then in the performance car world, you can usually drop some serious weight and get better sizing and offsets in the aftermarket. Wheel weight is especially noticeable on a handling course because it’s unsprung. Doesn’t really apply here though.

I found some 2015 17" alloys with Les Schwab winter tires on them for $400. This is a much more sensible deal , the tires have only a season on them.

I read the post about $300+ per wheel. We all value things differently...I totally get the concept of having an extra set to swap out. I just don't live in a cold enough part of the country to have to worry about it.

Yes I've never been that person to take the hit for new wheels and tires. I only get good used deals.
I have a set of studded snows on nice looking alloys for my old beetle, I paid 275 for that. I install them on the car for 6 weeks a year if that. I can't get snow tires for less than 600, so the wheels are just bonus.

She is happy and does most of the driving in it. I was impressed by how well it did on snow with the sport oriented 19" tires.
Only 6 weeks and 1000 miles or so.
The front sensors can get overwhelmed by rain.
Rear seats are a little firm for the long haul.
