Too little too late. Consumers have moved on, those small amount of die hard Blackberry fans can't save the company.

Also Blackberry already lost a ton of the business side to Apple and Android. So many companies switched over because Blackberry took so long to catch up. I don't see them all just all of a sudden going back since it's difficult for companies to upgrade computer operating systems let alone switch phones again.

Sorry Blackberry but you took forever to try and get the consumer market back so you let go of the business sector. Too late now to win it all back now. They can definitely stick around but they will never be near the top like they were before.

Their footprint is still larger in the enterprise market than you give them credit for and there is a lot of movement towards Blackberry solutions again but they lost the consumer market and it will take nothing short of miracle for them to have any kind of presence there.

most places i know (inc where i work) got rid of their blackberry hardware (BES? server?) ages ago and afaik their phones are useless without that

My work shutdown our BES servers last month and decommissioned them. RIP Blackberry.

The battery life on Blackberries is amazing. Seriously, it's astounding. I have one for work and it goes at least 5 days on a charge. Usability is garbage though. I hate using the thing.

no other phones let people txt and drive at the same time. you can type on berries blind folded.

If it was a significant upgrade over the Q10 I would get the classic to replace my phone. Unfortunately it has pretty much the same internals so other than a slightly larger screen the classic is not much different than the Q10.

Those 50 were a few diehards that didn't want to leave Blackberry, but mainly just phones issued to field support or after hours support people who didn't have a choice because they got whatever old crap the execs didn't want anymore.

Same story at my last company. Companies don't want to pay $5k to $10k for a BES anymore. And as soon as they launched their BES Express product for free they essentially told the world that paying thousands for a BES was stupid.

That being said, I was a happy BBerry user for at least half a decade. I had a new device every 6 months. I get a bit nostalgic about BlackBerry every once in awhile, but I also get nostalgic about Nextel and other brands that some of my employees just say "what's that?" to.

Guess I'm getting old...

Because they wanted to make the same exact phone they stopped making years ago.

Another problem with this phone is that since it doesn't have apps of its own, and uses Android apps, the apps are going to look all weird because of the aspect ratio. All Android apps are made wide-screen and this screen is square.
