Blue Orbs are obviously not as good as Golden Orbs, considering their size. These are intended to be used as chipset (video, motherboard, etc.) coolers, where the Golden Orbs are for CPU cooling.
Carpe.. Now you've got me really interested in this orb. My last Geforce DDR got friend, I think I should invest in this orb. Hmm... Thanks... for making me spend more money!!!!!
You guys could also try using the low-profile Golden Orb, it's only a couple dollars more. But it'd be harder to install since it doesn't have the 2 corner pins, and might interfere with capacitors and such protruding from your video card. Best way to go with the low-profile orb is silver epoxy.
Hehe- Ryan- I have that exact same problem. I can't decide whether or not to get it. $20!! I might go with the low profile G Orb if my free sample of silver epoxy ever comes in.
you know that the limiting factor on a GeForce (GeForce2 MX especially) is the memory chips and memory clock...NOT THE GPU....
So, why would improving the cooling on the GPU help? It won't.
Read the reviews....increasing the GPU clock has little effect on performance...memory is the key.
My Two Pesos....
BTW...on my GeForce2 GTS card, I have a little 486 fan resting on the backside of my vid card...keeps the GPU cooler, and helps with air circulation of the whole card....(you'll need little spacers to keep the fan from sitting flush on the card...dont' use SCREWS...they will short out the board... Why spend $20 on a larger fan/heatsink when you can just pop an old fan that's lying around...
