Blue screen of death !!!

Hi Guys
My configuration is as follows:
Core i5 3570 k@stock 3.40ghz with Hyper 212 evo with push
Asus P8Z77 V Pro
Corsair Vengeance 2*4gb 1600Mhz
Corsair TX 650 W
Yesterday I was fiddling with Asus AI Suite and used the auto tuning option to overclock which gave me an overclock of 4.2 ghz.All was well until I got a blue screen while I was playing NFS MW (old version).System restarted and again got the same pbm while I was playing it.I suspected it to be Asus AI Suite causing the pbm and uninstalled it but the overclock still remained.again got the bsod but this time after an hour.so I decided to remove the overclock ,so flashed my mobo and have not got it till today.
Question is how can I know whether it will occur again or not?i mean.is there a software to check ?can I be sure the pbm is solved??and will the flashing of mobo cause the bios settings to default prcessor frequency??

How long had your system been running without any problems (before the overclock)?

What I am asking is, are you sure is was the over clock? Is is possible you made some other changes / driver updates?

By flashing the mobo, do you mean clearing the CMOS?

I can see how this can very obviously be caused by the OC, I mean what else would it be? Probably a slim chance if it wasn't. You definitely didn't have to flash your mobo either, it could have just taken changing it back. If a system cant handle an OC its going to BSOD, that just tells you to turn it down a bit. And just a tip usually the auto tuning software isnt really the best idea.

Both the overclock tuner in AI Suite and the Overclock tuner in the bios are system wreckers. It is an automated feature that STARTS with CPU 5.0GHz + O/C attempt and works its way down until something stable - with RAM along for the ride. ASUS is way too aggressive with this feature

I tell my customers: if you ever even once use either tuner, the mobo is your problem - dont call me. I would hazard a guess your RAM is compromised, run an overnight memtest 86+ from USB/CD, tho thats not an absolute best test. Running crazy overclocks can also corrupt bios code, so an overnight PSU unplugged cmos reset might be worthwhile, or even a reflash to a dif vers. But you have already tried that.

I guess the problem is solved because I have not got a bsod in two days.i have even installed farcry 3 and happily playing it without a problem.and by flashing I mean flashing a different version of bios.

so from my system specs can I oc it to 4.0 ghz??u know of a guide for overclocking my processor??

Every CPU is dif in its ability to run overclocks, as its ability to run higher speed RAM since the MCH is on the die now. Generally speaking any SB CPU should run @4.5 without issue and IB @ 4.4. The SAFE way to auto overclock is the TPU switch on every 1155 ASUS mobo. So you disable (Intel) Turbo mode in bios, set XMP RAM profile in AI Overclcok setting on AI Tweak page, then shut down and flip on TPU switch so led lights, then boot to Win 7 a few times and you should have a nice 4.4GHz overclock (4400). Disable CPU spread spectrum so you only get locked 100.0 BCLK - its only for folks who live near a cell tower or TV Transmitter or Power Station. Then you go into Win 7 cntrl panel/power/balanced/advanced and set processor min 2% and max 100% for throttling when idle. (the 2% does not mean running at 2%)

You should have your mini and mem dump files looked at to determine if its hardware or software driver issues causing the BSOD. I just had occasional BSOD's for two weeks that I later found out was being caused by a win update. Then MS released another update to fix the issue. I have the same board and processor and cooler and can not get past 4.5 without any issues. I ended up backing down to a mild 4.2 and its now runs at the same temp before the OC with the stock Intel heatsink and fan.
