I had no idea that the X3 came in a six cylinder. I'll have to have the wife take a look at it. Starts at $56,600 plus shipping, ripping and raping. I wish they offered a X2 six cylinder but I think that would be impossible considering it is a front wheel drive vehicle, and I do not like FWD.

They do the m35i in the x2 which I think is more than enough. 300HP 2L is good for 4.6-4.7s 0-60 in that thing.

Would have let you have mine for free. One of the worst vehicles I've owned. First and last BMW for me.

Can I have your worst ever car that you have ever owned for free? ...now that Capt Caveman doesn't need it, obviously.

It's still available, right?

BTW, when this got posted I thought it was Photoshopped. Then I happen to go onto the BMW USA website and OMG, Vomit! Are they trying to compete with redneck Dodge Ram? There is a limit to the amount of unattractiveness I can be with and that ... that just crosses the ugly line.

I wonder if they've done any focus groups for this, and what the demographics of those groups are. No one I've talked to likes what they are doing with the grills. Looks stupid IMO. Wife and I had been considering an X5 for a while, but took it off the list when they enlarged the grill last year. Won't even consider a newer Lexus. Blech.

BMW has more or less said China, their biggest market, wants the large grilles. They implied tastes change over time so styles will change as well (kind of a weak sauce way of saying maybe they won't stay large forever).

Anyway, BarkingG is probably as much referring to the hideous color scheme on the new M3 w/ M Performance parts. It made me wonder if this was just a release demo or if one can actually order that red on black (it's some vinyl wrap).
I'm no fan of the big (buckteeth) grilles, but the Euro license plate breaks up the ugliness a bit. I don't think it'll look good with a U.S. plate. Sports sedans are a shrinking market anyway, but over time, I think BMW buyers will accept the large grille fad. The real long-term question is if BMW (et al) successfully transition to electrification before Tesla grows up.

Shoot, I may need to go get a three year old CPO car or two now. Maybethey'll resell the enlarged-grille X5 as the new Durango?

Is that the X5? I just saw a rather new X5 today and I swear it looks smaller than ones from a decade ago. I thought for a minute someone stole a Toyota Highlander and put a BMW badge on it. But maybe my first moving percetion of it is incorrect.

That's an X3 M40i. The X5 are definitely bigger now than before. They're just a little bit smaller than an Explorer where as the X3 is around Rav4 size.

Pretty much all autos in the U.S. are bigger than the same model from a decade ago.

Btw, not sure if it was discussed in this thread, but what's wrong with just keeping the 335i? The F30 has generally proven to be a reliable car. I'm planning to keep mine for as long as possible, although the N20/N26 4-banger that you hate so much has a known defect with the timing chain guides (that can lead to catastrophic engine failure). BMW extended the warranty on this component, but did not do a full recall.

I wasn't planning on getting rid of my 335. I love it too much. But I have a 19 year old Tundra and a 16 year old 325i. One of those two needs to go, maybe both.

No, X3 M40i. It's supposedly bigger than the original X5.
