I'm testing this out, to see if it will work on a remote system where F@H doesn't, and encountered an issue relating to teams. When I joined, it transferred my username from the old stats, but it has me in "TeAm AnandTech", while there is also an "AnandTech" with one member in it. Which one should I use for BOINC?

I've downloaded SETI BOINC and am trying it out on 1 PC. Made sure I was a member of Team Anandtech.

Where do we go for individual stats for BOINC?

Team membership is automatically transferred when you activate the BOINC account. You don't have to do anything special. That's how I experienced the transition.

Individual stats Keep your account ID handy.

I haven't been paying much attention to seti the past couple months now.
What's going on? Is the old client of seti being shut down soon? I just checked my stats for the first time in at least 2 months, and I'm at 2989. Still churning out about 17 a day. Any chance I can hit 3K before they shut the old client down?

Are you trying Predictor@Home? Let me know how it goes?

I found a simple way to run F@H on a remote system, I think, I'm testing it now

What happened when you tried to run F@H on a remote system? Why was it not successful?

Thanks

1 - No, I generally avoid beta testing DC projects (well, then I must be gamma testing S@H/BOINC, hmm?)

2 - Cool, please keep us updated on how it works out.

3 - F@H, as you know, has difficulty caching workunits (well, you can with the Timeless Tinkers, but controlling when it does its network access in a way that is unobtrusive to the people who use the computer is not something I've discovered how to do yet - in other words, I can't have it popping up a "can I dial out now" box just anytime). This machine can only be connected to the internet when I'm there to temporarily initiate a dialup connection to the account that I normally use at home (the rest of the time, this PC operates with no network connection). I'm sure I could find a way to set up F@H on it, but BOINC looks like it would be a bit simpler to manage, and that's important as I'm staying very busy right now with other things (RC5-72 would be even simpler, but we don't need to get into a discussion about my opinions on the usefulness of that project here).

The big question is, "Are we EVER going to get credit for the additional WUs crunched?"

"Are we spinning our wheels by continuing to crunch Seti-Classic?"

It would certainly seem a waste of CPU CYCLES if the work currently being done will be lost in the ether without ever being analyzed? If anyone comes across this information we all would like to know.
