bootloader probs - xp, linux, vista

Long story short: i've got an xp install and a vista rc1 install- I used to dual boot, using vista's bootloader. That became messed up, and I had to reinstall vista rc1. Now there is no boot choice screen- vista just comes up. My xp partition is still there, I can see it in vista. I'd like to get rid of vista, and get my xp back. How can I go about doing this?

You have 2 partitions then, correct?

XP is on the main partition and Vista on the second, correct?



You need to use the original XP CD and boot into recovery mode. The CD will autostart and walk you though it.

Once in Recovery mode you need to use the command: fixmbr

That is fix master boot record. Then you should just boot into XP next time and you can deletde the vista install/partition
