I got these last year for mucking about in the Portland wet. Easy to get on/off. I was worried being a slip-on that they would slip on my heel when walking, but they don't. In fact these are the most comfortable walking boots I've ever worn and keep my feet dry. It doesnt get very cold here and I havent had any trouble with them being too warm.

I used a pair of adidas gsg-9s in the army, they're a bit tacticool but quite good all weather boots. plus they look alright for civilian use.

Gore-Tex will allow your feet to respire. I got a pair of Vasque Sundowners the last year that they were made in Italy (moved to China), I think it was 2004 and they've held up well. I'll wear them with shorts in the Summer if I'm worried I'll be trudging through mud or climbing.

I wear these Danner boots when it's really cold. I'd recommend something old fashioned and traditional, though. Try something from L.L. Bean.

I bought those and love them. They are insulated, however I have worn them from 0 degrees up to 105 degrees (F of course) and they are comfortable. I chose them because of available wide widths, and the steel toe and shank, which I prefer to have when on jobsites.

Before they got all torn up from work , they looked nice, and I actually bought another pair to wear out, and I will just downgrade them to work boots when my current work pair wears out.

Red Wings and Danners are probably my favorite, if theres anything better in terms of sheer quality I havent seen it and probably cant afford it.

Currently use my tan combat boots. Mainly because I am to cheap to go buy a warmer pair. Plus they are high enough that I avoid most water issues.

Danners and Redwings are great for the money no doubt about it, but neither can hold a candle to Whites.

I have a pair of LL Bean "Snow Sneakers." They are waterproof and very comfortable.

I like Keen boots, shoes and sandals. They are very comfortable.

I wore Skechers and various other brands for about 10 years, but got back into hiking, so went looking around. Got a pair of Keen sandals that let me literally run up a steep hill covered in wet loose leaves, when I rode my ass down the same incline in my Sketcher waterproof boots.

I can't say enough good things about Keen. Has to do with the feel of walking over the fit; just feels great with support and a feel I've never seen before in shoes. And they have some anti-bacterial smell stuff in the sole that people who know me can testify to the effectiveness.

Use the sandals when kayaking and camping and I love them so got some hikers today. Dicks has a $25 off special til Jan 5 on any hikers over $99, so got them for $80 after tax.
