I'll be Krakn3dfx in-game and also on Steam, so feel free to add me to your friend's list once the game is out!

Yeap, all my copies are distributed. My Steam name is Golgatha777.

I love the look of Crysis no less than I love the look of TF2. This game still looks ass.

If you don't buy the game, you'll be missing out.

I heard nothing about this game till last Thursday. I heard about it on PS3 and thought "man that looks good, but I don't really like FPS games on con-OMG ITS COMING OUT ON PC TOO". I'm really looking forward to this game.

The artstyle from the trailers/videos doesn't really excite me or piss me off but the gameplay looks pretty good - I'm definitely looking forward to picking this up.

I'm down for a 4pack buy if anyone else is going to be doing it.

How about you put your money where your mouth is. How about you host data centers across the world to host video game servers for people for free? Then people like Blizzard can use your service for free and everyone profits. And since server hosting doesn't cost anything, you won't really be out any money.

I'm willing to put money on it that this game doesn't like up to the hype. Plus it looks lame and boring.

Thanks for responding to an old argument with your broken logic.

For one, I am putting my money where my mouth is by not supporting subscription based games.

Two, I never said, thought, or implied it was free to host. I don't know where you got that from.

Three, as I already said, Blizzard is free to charge what they want. They are expected to make profits. I place the blame on the stupid people who pay it. Look at what it's done to Blizzard. They put all their focus on this one franchise. SC2 and D3 should have been out a long time ago. With all that cash they are raking in they could have hired more talent, finish their WIPs, and even launched new IPs. But, their creativity and development has been stifled by their narrow focus.
Then you have consumers who are paying for MMOs, so they skip other PC games so they can justify paying their monthly fees. I've heard it before. "I'm paying $15-60/mo for my MMOs, so I have to play them a lot to get my moneys worth. And since I have to play them all the time, why spend money on other games that I'm not going to play?" Sure there are numerous people that don't fit this description but there are also far too many that do. It's a downward spiral. Look at how many other "me too" MMOs there have been. Instead of trying to make something unique they just want to hop on the MMO bandwagon.

Ultimately I realize the futility in arguing about it. Blizzard likes money as much as anyone and isn't going to change something that is good for them, and consumers have obviously shown they are willing to support them.

If shooting stuff and finding loot is lame and boring, then the millions of FPS and Diablo fans must be delusional. I can't imagine what you see in the trailer that you find so lame and boring compared to any game out there, nor can I see how you completely ignore all the previews and fans that have actually played the game and are so excited for the release. You seem to just want to hate the game for no reason at all.

I admit that I am quite ignorant about the details of the game since most gaming sites are blocked at work and I never remember to look the game up at home, but from the two or three videos I've seen it does look like a boring game.

Why? The pace. There were so few enemies on the screen at a time. How long is it going to take to level up and get good loot without lots of baddies to kill?

Please tell me this is not the case.

I don't think you're the only ignorant person about this game. I've been trying to find more detailed info and it's somewhat lacking. I think we'll find out more once it actually is out and played. (un)fortunately for PC users the game is out first for consoles. They'll probably be able to give us enough feedback about the game in general.

I disagree with Mike Gayner about the art : I don't like the style but I don't think it looks bad or like ass. I'm actually mostly indifferent to it.

I worry somewhat about the pace too since there is little info about it. I hope it's not a pain in the ass to level through (ala oldschool RPG's). The gameplay video of Arid Hills : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuxxPXUyCNk has 4 mobs on screen (and you're team of 4). It looks like enough action/stuff to shoot at for me, I just hope you dont have to travel to far to find the next group and that there is variety - big groups of weaker enemies, big strong enemies, whatever.

I don't think it'll be L4D covered by zombies, omg zombies everywhere - but I'm hoping it won't be too hard to find a fight either.

Previews are a joke. They are and always have been a big advertisement for these games. Unlike people who love to be part of the hype wagon, I'm reserving judgement until the game is actually released. But it looks boring as hell to me - zero atmosphere, and just a boring run and gun. Yawn.

This game won Best of PAX, and how does it look lame and boring? 16 million weapons variations on an open world post-apocalyptic world where you buddy up with 3 other people, level up your character and utilize a Diablo-like skill tree?

Mordecai has an alien eagle that he uses to tear bad guys apart. That ALONE just sounds like all kinds of awesome. I wish you would point out any one element of this game that in any way sounds "boring".

Of course it won't live up to the hype, no game ever does. Even if it's only half as cool as it sounds right now, it'll be one of my favorites this year.

Pitchford has been pretty adamant that there are going to be a crapload of enemies in the game, because in his mind the wide open stretches of space in Fallout 3 were what made that game shitty.

Personally, I loved Fallout 3, and thought the times when you were hiking across the Wastelands with no one or nothing else around added to the experience, but since at the core BL is a shooter, I imagine you'll be constantly assailed by enemy mobs.

I can't wait for this game to come out. There hasn't really been any games released recently that I'm interested in, so I'm just itching for a new game to play.

As far as I know, no. I don't know of any games on the PC that do split screen.

I dont see it working too well...

I agree about Fallout 3. The whole point is that it's a wasteland, and it created that atmosphere very well. I'd even prefer it to be a bit more desolate.

If you watch that video, you'll notice they are pumping quite a few bullets into that skag. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the equivalent to a champion monster. Taking the video out of context really doesn't help to tell us what it's like, but all the talk suggests that there will be plenty of targets.

Previews aside, and ignoring everyone who has ever played it and liked it... Please explain to me what kind of game you find enjoyable, especially in concern to shooters. I am still baffled at why you think Borderlands looks boring. When I see the videos, I see a shooter that is more fun than most ever made.

It still cracks me up that people are buying this nonsense. It's going to be tiny variations on the same things idiots - they're not actually developing millions of unique weapons for the game.

It is an enhanced variation of the Diablo loot system, and since that was fun enough for me I don't expect to be disappointed.

I'm pretty sure at least 95% of the people keeping up with borderlands knows this already. But this is really the game that hellgate london was suppose to be and so far the videos have shown that. It's a fps/rpg that has what seems to be a pretty extensive loot system and the gun play seems to be about right. Hellgate london's gun play was terrible...no reload just hold down the button and watch it go.

I'd say for people that want a good co-op game with enough elements to keep them playing for the loot then this is the game to have. It may sound a lot like diablo II but that's not a bad thing since that game was hugely addictive. People may have their reasons for not liking the game but i have the utmost confidence in borderlands to be a great game.

They're not actually developing any guns at all, actually. The guns are created by pieces, and therefore the more pieces developed, the more combinations available. That is why the number has steadily rose from 500k guns when it was announced 2 years ago to the 17 million mark today. The guns will be different, and not just stat wise. They have proven this. There's a video where they mapped a button on the Xbox to produce a gun. They kept pressing the button and every gun that came out was different. They looked different, shot different, and had different stats. With 17 million variations you will never find 2 guns that are the same. You will never find all the guns available.

It must have taken ages for them to show you all 17 million.

Har.

No.

My life would pretty sad if I spent any time at all in threads posting comments about games I had no interest in. Just saying.
