Bored...

Rome Total War lasted damn near a year for me. Only now have I been getting bored of it. The new expansion pack, which seems more like a sequel from all the stuff they are adding, looks like it will last me another year.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for: F.E.A.R to be a good Action/Shooter ; Civilization 4, a good turn-based strat; Quake 4, you should know; Call of Duty 2; and Rome: Total War Barbarian Invasion. All of which slated for later this year. Graphics are becoming more advanced in every single game, but lets just hope the gameplay fallows through like their predecessors.

I guess the HL2 expansion is worthy to note. With high definition lighting and all that. Just no word of when it will be out. This could mean next year for all we know.

If you are into rpgs in general check out Baldur's Gate 2 and Icewind Dale 1+Heart of Winter expansion. Playing through BG2 again myself, 100+ hrs of game there including Throne of Bhaal expansion.

Top Spin! I've been playing this game for a LONG time now (first on the Xbox and I just got it for the PC) and I'm still having a ton of fun playing it. Online games are a blast... the game is really easy to pick up yet there is an enormous amount of depth and strategy to the game. Hands down the best sports game I have ever played.

Just went out and bought it because I too was also bored w/ my games and its been very addicting as of late..plus its only 19.99 at most stores!

I agree, I usually play sports games on the PS2 but golf is way better on the PC.

Both have good gfx, if your rig has a good enough card for the eye-candy

Yeah, I think the 6600GT is god enough for that.

Far Cry and PK both came out last year, Far Cry was first IIRC. I think they are both at about $20 now. PK might be more with the expansion pack (which is worth getting IMHO).

Far Cry is absolutely awesome.

GTA San Andreas is really fun. I'd say its even better than Vice City.

Wether your into RPGs are not , try out UO (Ultima Online). I was never an RPG guy but my friends in college got me into this game and now I'm addicted, well after a few months the addition goes down a bit, but it's not a game that gets boring, but it also depends on what shard you're on. I was on one that had lot of people, then moved to one with less(basically only like 10 of my friends) so it started getting boring, but then we recently moved to this huge shard with like 300 people on at once, so things will get fun once my chars are developed. The thing with this game though, you almost need to be unemployed to play it. (or call in sick allot lol)

Guildwars is definately the 3d version of diablo.

For an easy fast paced MMO, try out City of Heroes. It's a pretty nice game that will be fun from 1-50. Fast paced in which you can jump on a team(or make your own), do a mission or two and log out. No huge time commitments unless you do certain missions.

No offense but if you play that many games and are bored perhaps you should be doing something more productive with your time?


I like to play a java based game. @ playbattlefield.com its free and a lot of fun. only bad is chat feature sucks.

Just a thought, but maybe you are playing too much of the same. I see a lot of FPS on that list with a couple strategy mixed in but not much else. Maybe try to mix in some platforming/adventure games. I guess it is harder for just the PC because FPS and strategy games dominate the market, but I like to mix up my console and PC play. Just finished Half Life 2 and always playing WOW, but I have mixed in Burnout 3 (XBOX) and Spider-man 2 (GCN).

As for my suggestion, How about Splinter Cell Chaos Theory?
