Bose Quality Speakers for cheap

Cool! A Bose debate!

And yes, Bose sux.

So we're sitting here talking about spending $1,200 on a pair of paper speakers. I'm not going to start a debate. Instead, I'll offer a few links to broaden one's perspective for the same price point and above. The rest is up to your own curiosity.

Do not bother.
This guy is going to twist everything you say and claim that it is simply a matter of personal taste.
He is full of crap.

I do agree, however, that if your primary criteria involve size and "cuteness" then BOSE might be your ticket.
They'll still sound like crap, however - small "cute" crap.

Do yourself a favor and check out some of the aformentioned speakers.
They'll cost the same (or less) and sound MUCH better, even to the untrained ear.
One thing I like to do is listen to a song I've heard before and try to find details that I've never noticed before.
Just remember - louder != better.
And those nifty BOSE 2 speaker surround systems just use HRTFs, neat trick but not quite as good as true 5.1 (or better) sound.

I'm just glad a few people could be warned against purchasing BOSE.
There is no need to get audiophile elitist on everybody, I don't even consider myself an audiophile.
I wouldn't crap on a thread with a deal on Energy speakers, claiming that they suck and that you should spend more $$ for some Martin Logans.
I just love music (and HT) and hate dropping more $$ than I have to.
