It already has about a 100 miles on it in stop/go traffic in LA. I think I'll be fine.

Maybe not...got this from another forum, claimed it was from the car's manual:
■ Breaking in your new Lexus
To extend the life of the vehicle, observing the following precautions is recommended:
● For the first 186 miles (300 km): Avoid sudden stops.
● For the first 621 miles (1000 km):
- Do not drive at extremely high speeds.
- Avoid sudden acceleration.
- Do not drive continuously in low gears.
- Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods.

Might want to go up the coast rather than 5.

Love that car! I've not seen any on the roads but I saw one on a TV car show a few weeks ago and thought it was gorgeous. For whatever reason my 14yo was not impressed at all (he's at that age he's starting to check out cars more).

That color looks like mercury, calling it "silver" doesn't do it justice.

what?! the digital gauges are so cool. probably one of the best parts of these cars. honestly, what else do you think they could have added to them? and yeah, i also feel the predator grill is awesome, at least on the RC, GS and IS.

Also, don't mean to hijack your thread, but I just happened to pick this up for my car while i'm in Japan, good for a +50HP boost

Naah - I love that it has a digital guage, I just think that particular gauge looks like it belongs in a Prius not a sports coupe. Maybe it's the colors, or the style, but it looks pretty boring. That being said, I just googled some other pictures, and it looks better in action (again this is a very small nit pick and would never stop me from buying that car).

Like the push button - that's definitely worth 50hp.

The colors on the digital gauge can be customized. I made it red and white. You can add yellow and other colors of you wish

I was looking into the 435i and S5. But I couldn't justify paying so much more for those vehicles when Lexus had such a great deal going. The 435i would've been faster and a better drivers car but I would have to pay about 200+ more a month for it and that didn't make sense to me.

Not my cup of tea.. 70 grand for a 4,000 lb auto coupe? Styling is subjective so in speaking mechanically, 460 hp saddled with that much weight is pretty much bottom of its class. Cmon buddy, a nice used NSX is like 50k! Or a certified gt-r at the very least.

Overall good looking touring car that is not hard to drive, I see the appeal but think there are so many better options out there.

You mean buy a 10 year old car for 50k that's only 250hp? That's not my cup of tea.

Hehe, it's got more power than that, and it's a lot lighter as well.

May not be your cup of tea but it's most definitely a legend in the company of other cars like any lexus that isn't an LFA.

It's not. It's an antiquated old car that's been glorified for no reason. That's pretty much the 'legend' that car or car company is. I don't recall any history of any performance car from acura prior to that. 50k on a old car with an old design with lot of buttplants on the seats is not my cup of tea.

Sure it's old, maybe antiquated. But when it came out it beat Ferraris and lambos around the track all while bring cheaper and more reliable.. It's an absolute legend. And "that car company" created engine technologies that everyone else uses to this day.

You seriously trying to knock Honda in defense of Toyota? Lol, tell me again how Toyotas F1 engines compare to Hondas? Oh wait..

You're trying to take the conversation into a totally different direction. But to each his own. Btw, I don't like Lexus in general. I indicated that above. This is to hold me over until the new 450hp q60 comes out.

What kind of motor is that supposed to be? No way their NA V6 can swing that, right?

It's supposed to have a twin turbo 3.0 v6 or 4.7 v8. Not sure what the configuration will be. But it'll be awesome. Or I just might have to scrap my plans and give in to the wife and get a Tesla.

Congrats on the car. It certainly is very unique looking. Thumbs up on the red interior. Probably my favorite part of the car.

I am going to be very honest and say the exterior really doesn't do much for me. I am pretty sure the pics don't do this car justice. For the record I don't think I have seen one of these up close before either.

One thing about Lexus / Toyota is they make really good reliable cars. So hopefully it will be just oil and gas before you get your q60.

Did you end up taking the Freeway back to San Francisco ?

Yep. Drove it up. Wasn't too much of an issue on Hwy 5 since there were too many cars/trucks on the road due to memorial day so I had to vary the speed often.
