Are you talking about the part where the giant door opens towards the top of the fortress? It was ok I guess but nothing special. The fact that you have to run through thousands of identical hallways and dozens of identical bridges to get to it outweighs the positives by quite a bit.
What characters in Halo were so much better than the ones in Far Cry? Halo had Cortana (the whiniest bitch ever) and 22 Guilty Spark (the whiniest bastard ever). Crow and Jack Carver may have been mindless but at least they were cool as far as action characters go.

The script we are talking about isn't the AI it is what they say to each other. It is mindless meathead talk that an 8 year old playing with action figures could come up with.

If Crow is the worst part in Far Cry then it must be a pretty damn good game. He really wasn't that bad. Guilty Spark wasn't mental, he was just a small annoying robot with an even more annoying voice.

How did Halo have good gameplay? It just got a whole bunch of minor elements from other shooters, mixed them together (often in a bad way), and called it innovative. Halo's gameplay was outdated years before its release. The story and characters really aren't that great either. Compared to some games they aren't too bad, but they aren't even close to the ones in Deus Ex or System Shock II.
Yes, the story sucks in Far Cry. Story is a pretty minor element of computer games though. What's bad about the weapons? They're all realistic when it comes to damage and they sounded quite nice as well. One of the less good Far Cry weapons slaughters the many weak weapons in Halo.

QFT, i hate most current games cause sure they look good but the story sucks, and most of them after u played once u dont want to play em again. I wouldnt mind if games looked worse as long as they had great storyline, which i actually wanted to find out how it resolved. I dont want to pay 50 bucks for games which i'm not gonna touch ever again cause they suck so much.
Games like san andreas i like, sure the story is simplistic and so are the graphics, but what u can do is much more than in any other game, its like a city similator.

I'm not comparing them between games so much as I'm comparing how fun they are to use in their respective games. The OICW was much better in Far Cry than any Halo weapon was in Halo. I don't know if the weapons are really so balanced anyways. The plasma rifle seemed pretty useless, for example.

For the most part storyline is just eye candy for the average artsy gamer. Even still, if storyline is the thing that's most important to you then there are probably a hundred games that you'd like more than Halo.

If you want a novel experience, read a novel or play Planescape: Torment. Honestly, Halo doesn't have a storyline large enough to fit into one chapter of a novel. Yes, I do think a developer should put fun over storyline. Of course some artistic value is necessary for a game but the number one priority should be freedom of choice. Max Payne 2, for example, is a game that put story and art over gameplay and suffered because of it.

The Needler is defenitely the most fun game in Halo and I've given it credit earlier in this thread. Even still the Needler (among the other weapons) are too arcade-like in that they require too many shots to kill anything. Any weapon is good against grunts including melee hits. Haven't played the game in a while, but I remember using mostly the assault rifle in elites.
