This is an update to those that signed up for EARTHLINK DSL a while back, where COVAD also had a $198 Rebate, for installing their DSL service. Well to make a long story short. I didn't believe they would actually send those out, but when some one said their friend got the rebate, I said wtf, and send the rebate in. LO_AND_BEHOLD~~~~! I just got a check for that amount today.

SIX MONTHS of DSL for $1.80 ~~~~~~~(I did the 49.95/month with two months free.)
$49.95 * 4 = $199.8 - $198 = $1.80 <----sweeet

If you did this deal, check your mail for some cool Christmas shopping money....

Oh, I do not like STAPLES.COM, sam I am....

I bought the HP CD-RW 9110i from staples.com on 11/25/00 for $99.99. I also added the $.17 cent
paper clips to get the order over $100 so I could use the 30 off of 100 coupon. As soon as the
paper clips arrived, I got an email saying the CD-RW was out of stock and would be removed from my
order. I just got my CC bill today and STAPLES ( ARGH!!!!) charged my CC $32.06 for the coupon that
was no longer valid. WHAT! Needless to say, I was on the phone and after 20 minutes they finally
decided to credit my CC. I am thankful I loooked at every charge on my CC!:disgust:

Ordered a Synchmaster 900NF + SBLive X-Gamer 5.1 from Onvia on the 12th with the 50 off 500 coupon. Website stated processing for a few days, then backordered. A couple of calls later, they said they couldn't tell when the new shipments would come in, so they cancelled the samsung, but sent the SBLive. I was seriously POed until i noticed that they still took the 50 off.

Final: Retail SBLive X-Gamer 5.1 for 35.00 shipped.

Now I just have to find the 900NF for under $430 shipped...

from UPGRADE PLANET, I ordered a hsf, low grade memory, and was gonna order a 600mhz duron. John G. said they
were outta stock, and could put me down for a 650 for $55 as they had them in stock. that was
early on 12/15. it is over a week later. i picked these people cuz they were in VA and could get
the goods to me in 1 day on regular shipping, as with their good prices, was even willing to pay
the extra 4.5% sales tax. BUT....

apparently, they have &quot;GHOST INVENTORY&quot; where there isnt stock, but the computer says it
is. they blamed the weather that they havent received their shipment of stock from Kentucky. I
live in between Woodbridge,VA (where they are - 4 hours) and KY (8 hours). and their aint NO
problem on the roads. they didnt have stock yet of the mb (but did have a good price on it) i
wanted (MSI K7TPro2a) but Monarch in GA did and i put that order at 5:30pm on 12/15 and got
it the following Tuesday with no hassle. On several occasions, they told me that they would
call me back with info and never did. also, this operation closes down for lunch between 12 to
1, and since everyone calls back at 1pm, expect busy signals for a half hour.

Called John G. back and was gracious enough to pay for the shipping when the item comes in.
I never figured A-this place would run outta stock (CMON FELLAS!!) &amp; B-it would take a week
to get new stock shipments. I am holding off the ratings for this company until I get the stuff.
The stuff better d**n well work right tho.

I did the Staples deal for the Iomega 8x4x32 CDRW and the Agfa digital camera which had the $100 rebate from Staples, and $30 each in rebates from the two manufacturers. Well, Staples screwed up and didn't ship me the drive due to an &quot;inventory discrepancy&quot; on their part. After pointing out to them that they prevented me from being eligible to redeem the rebate, they credited me $100 back onto my Amex card. So, they ended up paying me $40 for the camera. The camera was $129 - 40 coupon I used when I ordered = $89. Then comes the $100 credit and the $30 rebate for the camera. Sweet. I reordered a better CDRW (HP 9350 for $229) through their site, used $30 off coupon, and have $50 off rebate from HP.

It's not too shabby.

I purchased the Plextor 12x10x32 CDRW from Onvia (for $160 ) and just checked the shipment status - it shows DELIVERED to PORCH, but I don't have it!!! Those f$#%*ing losers probably dropped it off at somebody elses house!!! What the hell are these idiots doing???
My uncle ordered a Dell PC and some stuff from Onvia (together ~6 packages). Guess what - NOT even one package was delivered to his house! The Onvia stuff was dropped off 1 block away from his house, and Dell PC several blocks!
Those idiots should be fired on the spot!!!

I had this one semi-Deal-o-liscious/kinda cheating incident... a while back College Club.com had this contest to win Dreamcasts. The game worked as follows: you pick up this game card (by signing up for free), then you scratch off any 4(and only 4) of 15 covered boxes provided on the card. Then you go to their website, check out the daily winning numbers, and if your scratched off card revealed the 4 winning numbers, you won a dreamcast. (while supplies last). So i find out that if you hold it up to a really bright light, you can read the numbers before you scratch. So I go to the website, find out the winning numbers and scratch them off. A month later me and a buddy have dreamcasts. This other shmo friend of mine only got a lousy t-shirt... ran out of D-casts. Sucks for him.

My CC# was hacked at creditcards.com from a transaction at drugstore.com, and I had a fraud charge show up. So I cancelled my credit card and have a new one coming. A couple of days later I get the email from egghead.com that their site was hacked. Fortunately it was the same credit card that I had already cancelled.

Anyone wanna know why Wards is going under? Cause of bad service....to make a long story short....I bought merchandise costing <700.00....applied for the credit card to get an additional 10% off....csr forgot to take off the 10%...made a new trans for 70.00+ credit....returned all merchandise...got the credit for the original 700.00+ but the 70.00+ credit remained....could have said something....but didn't because they lied to me about the merchandise being in stock...said it was and it wasn't....didn't call me til the day of delivery which was 3 weeks later....too bad for them.....suckers!
