I couldn't think of game that's more well rounded than BrickBreaker, before you scoff, hear me out.

It's simple, you just move the paddle left and right, but it does require a lot of hand eyes coordination (OK, maybe thumb eyes...). To add to the excitement, it freezes when you have incoming emails, which makes you want to get back to the tasks at hand (thumb) of scrolling up and down frantically on the wheel. Every time you press resume the game, it keeps you wondering whether the ball was going UP, or down.

It's very versatile, you can use it anywhere to kill time, or add productivity to your thumb exercise. From meeting rooms, to toilet, to waiting at the mall for your SO to try on clothes, to airports (I found this to be the most productive)... Virtually, there isn't a place where you cannot play this game.

And I don't know whether it's the lack of options, or because of its design, but I find this game highly addictive. I guess it has to be the no nonsense, fast action game play that keeps me coming back for more.

My highest score is 8850, beat that suckers.

yeah, legs start to go numb after a while. I just got a bberry the other day but I think the high score of the guys I work with is around 17,000. I think my high so far is around 5500 but I haven't really played it much.

i've never gotten past the level where it's a big U shape when it shifts so low that you die as soon as you hit the bottom of the U because you can't catch up on time.

I hate that level. I usually go through the first levels, hit that level and die. Made me stop playing because the first levels are too easy and that one is too hard. So the game became: boring easy level, boring easy level.... frustrating level, game over. That ain't fun.

Tetris on my DS < BrickBreaker on the CrackBerry. Easier to use make an excuse up for having a CrackBerry at work though...

Do you really have that high of a score?

I play that game constantly and the highest I have been is in the 500k range.

Any tips/tricks? My strategy thus far has been to build up a huge connection of colors and wait until there are other patterns near by ready to blow before detonating the big stack.. then when the X meter is up destroy the other ones.

No. I have seen a device with that score, though. It was a RIM employee. My GF can get 600k or so. It's all about the chains.
