I do not know what the problem is. It seems as if my computer likes to blame the BSOD on newly installed software or hardware..

My problems all started at least 2-3 days ago.. I am 100% sure that I did not install new software or new hardware, and it is telling me that it is the problem. Is there anyway to fix this? I know I never installed anything new..

The last thing I installed was CrapCleaner and that was a good 1 1/2 ago. So it is not that. Please help..

The last time I opened up my computer was about 3-4 weeks ago. So I know its definetly not that. Please help me...

So what the hell is it? I am getting very annoyed! Please help.

Did I also fail to mention I get random reboots? I mean they are completely random. One minute I will be in game and the next reboot. Or I will be at my desktop surfing the internet and a complete reboot.

That crap about it being newely installed hardware or software is just a generic message. Doesn't mean anything.

BSODs and random reboots would lead me to the following suspects:

- IRQ conflict (you don't have an SBLive in this computer do you? They're notorious for this).

- Bad or loose RAM, or dirty RAM contacts. Pull your RAM sticks, check the gold contacts for grunge or corrosion. Rub the contacts LIGHTLY with a NEW pencil eraser. Re-insert and make sure they're firmly seated,

- Loose card. Reseat all your cards.

- Overheating. Leave the case cover off and see if that helps. If it does, you know it's heat.

- Bad or overheating PSU.

Hope this helps...

The thing is this computer is pretty much brand new.. I do have a SBLive in this computer, but like I said this computer is pretty much new. I have had it 6 months prior before this and have never encountered any problems so that leads me to believe that is not the problem. The PSU has been great. I have never encountered reboots before or the BSOD.. The temps are quite moderate and they are accurate so that can not be the problem. The loose cards shouldn't be it because about 3-4 weeks I had to open my computer up and I reseated everything and reconnected everything's power likewise for the RAM.

It doesn't matter anymore guys... I tried to create a partition to backup my files, and well, when it restarted to create a partition it restarted right in the middle. Me thinking that it would work did not create a rescue disk so I was forced to do a complete reinstall.. Now, everything seems to be in working condition, but I have to reinstall my whole 6 months pretty much..

Im actually having a similar problem to this occuring on my computer. It started last week after I put some new ram in. My computer started randomly resetting at any time. Mostly right at start up. Occasionaly it would still start and give me an error message. The link said it was device driver issue. However, other than the ram the only thing I have installed is a new router and I dont think that could cause random restarts.

The first thing I did was update all of my drivers, that didnt solve the problem. So I ran memtest86 and found an error in the ram. I took out my new stick and ran memtest again and found no errors. So I am going to RMA the ram, however, I am still getting the problem. On startup the computer will randomly restart. Haven't seen it just restart when using it in a while but that was pretty rare and random before.

I found how to turn on logging for device errors online but it saves to a savedumb file I don't know how to read. I also checked my error log and this is what I got.

Error System Error Category 102 Event Id: 1003
The actual error code is as follows:
Error Code: 000000c4
Parameter 1 00000060
Parameter 2 000133a8
Parameter 3 00000000
Parameter 4 0000000a

Anyone know what the error codes mean and have any idea whats going on with my computer?

Just turned off the restart on error so hopefully I will have a stop code to post in a little bit.

I also just thought of something, I had a router die on me, my other computers power supply just died yesterday, and I know the random restart thing can be caused by a bad powersupply. Could a powersurge have damaged this computer and my other one?

My computer is selfbuilt about a year and 2 months ago
