Bud Selig is ruining Baseball.

First, he ends the game after 11 innings tied at seven. Why? Because the teams ran out of pitchers. The 1967 all-star game went 15 innings. I believe he ended it as he has a vested interest as the owner of the Brewers, and didn't want to upset other owners by wearing out their pitchers. But what about the fans Bud? Baseball SHOULDN'T END IN A TIE. Surely one of the players on the field had some pitching experience in college and could have been used as a pitcher. (with them having little practice at pitching, the game surely would have ended quickly.)

Load of crap. It's the damn primadonna players who won't play more than one inning.
How many spoiled rotten baby's didn't play this year even after the fans voted them in?
I swear to god, if they go on strike this year they better get some body gaurds.

What a weenie Bonds is. He hugs and carries Torrie Hunter around after he robbed him of a home run. They can all go on strike and never come back.

The other thing that pisses me off is FOX who always has these commercials (like that stupid attack of the spiders movie) that there is no way I will let my 6 year old watch. If other parents are like me, they are losing a whole generation kids who aren't watching baseball. FOX did the same crap for the world series and I didn't let my kid watch that either, although I would have liked to have let him. MLB can go screw themselves.

You are all being foolish and selfish. You all have to think about what was really going on in the game. The coached did what they were hired to do, get everyone in the game. Yea, it went to extra innings, and that sucked, but calling it was the only thing they could do. No one wanted the pitchers to be tired or injured when they go back to play for their respective teams, where they actually get paid. Zito could only pitch for a little bit kuz he had pitched 140 pitches in 8 innings on sunday. obviously, he shouldn't have been at the game, but still. there was really nothing that Joe could do about it. this was the only way it could have ended, and you all know it. just deal with it.

I agree. The all star game is going nowhere fast unless it starts to mean something again. We can't count on the players to try anymore unless they really have a reason. Home field advantage in the World Series would be enough of a reason.

did any of u read the latest on ESPN? A team might not be able to make payroll this COMING MONDAY, and another team might not be able to finish the season. Rumors are it's the diamondbacks and devil rays. The devil rays are easy because they suck, obviously aren't earning money, etc. I think the diamondbacks are the team who can't even make payroll by monday. Their owner isnt willing to give away his fortune for a baseball team, their payroll is high, and the past couple of years they have been in a financial crisis. Imagine, they wont be able to defend their rings because they wont even exist anymore. Man what a mess. As it is now, the home field advantage for the World Series is alternated between the two leagues. The National League had it last year, so the American League will have it this year.

I don't think the deaths of two people (Ted Williams and Darryl Kile) have anything to do with the "problems" of baseball since both of them died of natural causes.
