Bugs swarm to porch light

Since the weather is getting warmer the bugs come out - which is normally fine, but we have a porch light we like to keep on when it gets dark and mosquitoes and the like swarm to it. It is especially annoying when anyone wants to get in/out of the house, as the 1-2 seconds the door is open, the bugs fly inside.

Anyone have any tips to keep the bugs away? Is there a special spray I can put out there to repel them? Google says there's a special yellow light that helps - any of you have any experience with it? Thanks a lot.

Won't stop all the bugs from coming, but 95% of them will disappear.

Soon a spider will get the hint and make a home near it. I liked having one right at the top of the doorway. I began to keep the light on just to feed him. But what Canai said works a lot since that's what my parents now have.

spider can't catch enough to be effective.

These have been around FOREVER.

You will still have some bugs around it, but way way less than with a white light.

A can of butane is probably more fun. You can get at least a 10ft flame out of it.

And how exactly is the flame going to travel down the plastic straw and into the can, and lets just say I give you that it gets to the inside of the can, once it's in the can(lol), how is the flame going to somehow spontaneously cause the entire can to asplode into a metal shrapnel?
