Thanks! Can you please link me to the users' builds or pictures of them.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not Google so I don't know the links to all the H440 and H630 builds out there...I've just stumbled across some in the past.

I would recommend you check out the Case Mods section at OCN...probably the best case builds on the net...and just search through all the forums for H440 and H630 builds as they both use vents along the top and side for intake.

HTH.

So,

any of you who have been following me know that I've been wishy-washy over my H440. I deserve the upcoming burns.

After really considering the H630 as a larger replacement to the 440, I've determined that the I'm going to stick with what I have as I have so much time put into the mod....

So I check on the RMA status of my G1 Sniper...Gigabyte states they can not duplicate the problem...well, if they flashed the bios first I would agree as that was the only problem. However, it is in limbo somewhere on the west coast.

So, this morning the wife asks me what I wan for Fathers Day. I quickly respond with "a z97 board running a 4790k chip honey..." The skys parted, the earth shook and low and behold, I have a new mb and chip on it's way. She said I was such a good boy for not pouting over the whole build thingy, and that since I've gone above and beyond with the house and yard work that I deserved a treat!

Sometimes it's good to be me...Old Men Rule!!!!!

The new Sniper z97 is on the way, so now I have to either paint the sinks another color or re-sleeve and re-illuminate my case. If I had my old sniper back I would just trade sinks and call it a day, but still no idea where it is.

decisions, decisions, decisions...

So my z87 is on it's way back to me, and I just received my z97 and started to burn it in. I must say that the red accents are addictive. Can't do much at the moment as I'm just on air w/oem cooler so OC'ing is out of the question.

Both boards run identical from my current benchmarks. The real question is DC support...

So,

I pulled out the case tonight and I'm going to mod the front and top panels and open up the air flow in the case. Nothing fancy, just a simple mod with some type of mesh that breathes.

Its not exactly the best case for airflow that's for sure, but with decent fans and a couple of mods you're talking about performance should be good.
Love that stock look even after it modified, kinda like the way it should have been made.
For a start the internal panel inside next to the window from top to bottom just had to go.
Looking forward to a couple of happy snaps.

I modded mine to leave an opening on top and the support at the bottom. I didn't like not having it in with all the water I'm pushing. When I had the case totally tore down with just the rads in, the case would flex slightly...that changed my mind.

Hey there- first of all, really nice work! I'm looking forward to see the next steps.

Two things: first, are you planning to clean the PSU cover? I think it would be nice to see a clean top of it (as long as you're not planning to mount 2.5" drives on it) - just an idea.

The other thing: I just got a little question that bugs me; I'm planning to buy and mod the same case as you own, especially since razer anaounced that they will bring up an own H440 in their design (yep, little fanboy here).
My question - you demounted the complete case, so maybe you know that: Is it possible to mount the case in a reversed ATX position (so that the motherboard sits on the left side instead of the right side)?
I like the idea to have the bottom side of the graphic board looking up, it brings the waterblock out as a nice eye catch.

It's not that I don't want to mod it heavily, but maybe there is an easy way to it; for example that the back side of the case could be mounted reversed, as same as the both side panels. What here would be important is that the mounting holes of the screws are fitting both ways, or, with some work, to make it fit.

I hope you don't mind that i ask the question - i like your mod and it's a huge inspiration. Some of the same wc-parts will be go right in my case

Thanks in advance! And sorry for my shitty english, german here

That's for the ideas. I'm actually about 95% complete...just the final wiring clean-up and the panel / window mods. As for the clean psu cover, it will be housing two SSD's.

As for moving the atx tray from the left to the right side, not possible without extensive modding as it is not associated with the pci openings nor the fan openings on the back. Additionally, the psu cover would be an issue as it mounts directly to the mb tray.

Received my z87 Sniper back today...burning it in as I type. I'm currently at 4.4Ghz @ 1.2vcore...I could never get anything stable above 4.2 before...not even the new z97 G1 Sniper.

IBT passed 30 reps at max, Prime has been running for 30 minutes so they did something to the board.

So the RMA board is giving you a higher OC than you could achieve on pre-RMA and Z97 board?

Maybe some of the settings were tweaked compared to the regular board that's giving you that extra headroom? I haven't gotten around to fully benching my CPU yet, will likely just set up my dual rads for just my CPU now since I have no idea what is going to happen with my leaking GPU block. Might end up just tossing it and waiting for a GTX 880 to get the block integrated into the loop.

Actually, after all the testing was done I was back down to 4.3Ghz stable with the temps and voltage about the same. I can still post all the way up to 4.6, just not stable for me.

Hey Tweakin, hope everything is going good man. I was just curious if you had made the final decision on the setup yet. Are you gonna throw in the new z97 and 4790K that your (obviously awesome) wife bought you, or are you going to stick to the Sniper, and put the new hardware in a different rig?

And when do we get to see the pic of the panel mod? I still haven't done this with mine, my tmps are decent, but I do drop a few degrees with the front panel off, so it is something I'm thinking about.

I have been really involved in the DC thread over at OCN since it started, and the current DC's are averaging 4.6Ghz roughly, and I'm not going to waste $350 just to add 300Mhz to my rig, I don't need it. As for the z97 board, it added nothing (other than Red vs Green Scheme) so it's on it's way back to the Egg.

GB flashed the bios and that fixed the problem so I'm tearing down the 440 to fix some of my wiring (make it easier to work on) and then I'll install and load windows...whew! I still plan on modding the front and top panels along with the window to match my internal mod...coming soon!

Sims, how's your system running?
