Good catch, I knew I was missing something. Is it worth $86 to get 2 gigs PC3200 over PC2700 (Reg ECC)? I guess only I can really answer that.
The Opteron requires registered, but not ECC I believe, but I will certainly get both.
Quite frankly, I would love to use Monarch to build it, as their prices are very similar to newegg and others and the build fees are very modest. However, I just don't like any of their case selections that I could find. We don't have a rack for rackmounts, so I need a pedestal/tower. Quite frankly, 90% of their tower cases that they list for the systems wont handle the extended ATX Thunder K8S Pro motherboard. I was looking at the SR104, as we have a dual Xeon 2.0 GHz machine housed in one right now and I find it very nice to add drives, etc... If Monarch would offer that or a very similar case (want 5 drive bays internal at least) and the PC Power and Cooling PSU, I would happily let them build the system. Otherwise, I feel real comfortable buying the Opteron Combo, bolting it and a PSU in a case and installing the drive and cards. But heck, if someone else will build it, I ain't complaining. Suggestions for alternative PSU's and cases the monarch might offer would be very helpful.
