Building a new computer ~2000...

im trying to build my own computer finally.. but need some advice on what parts to get. Im mainly going to use this pc for video editing.

Case- Havent decided
I want a cool looking acyrlic case can someone help me. ..

Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 3.0GHz 800MHz FSB w/ 512KB Cache & HyperThreading
1GB DDR SDRAM PC
Plextor PX-504A DVD+R/W - IDE - Black (255)
Video card: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

im pretty new.. so I really dont know what stuffs good out there, please help me. thanks.

I wouldn't get the Plextor, it can't do all the DVD R types, get the Sony. Everybody is into the Intel 875 and 865 chipsests for Intel. I've always had good luck with Asus boards.

From what I read, Corsair ram was the most compatible with those chipsets. High end corsair. Goto newegg.com and just get one of the antec cases and be done with it.

For that price you can get the Dell blue gamer PC if you don't feel like building it yourself. Otherwise you should tell us whether you want to overclock, so people can recommend OC friendly RAM and mobo.

For $250 you can get the new NEC +/- burner.
