Is it going to be really hard to build my 1st pc?

No.

It seems intimidating at first but it's really easy. Read some guides, watch some video tutorials and you'll be good to go. Familiarize yourself with the parts and their manuals before assembly. Remember to take precautions against ESD.

If you run into any problems, you could always ask on forums like this or search for answers on google.

I watched CareyHoltzman's YT vids, they were spot on, if not a bit drawn out.

I've always been terrified of what lurks behind the computer side panel... that I would screw something up or burn something out just by touching it. Between those videos and the folks here at AT, my first build was a success! Since then I've updated my other 3 existing computers (1 Dell desktop and 2 Dell laptops) and built an HTPC from scratch.

The hardware part for me is the fun part... and probably the easiest. Loading everything and getting the components to play nice with each other has always been the hard part for me, but knowledge is power and there is plenty of knowledge here!

Things are a lot easier and safer than they used to be. Gone are the Master/Slave/Cable Select days and the risk of plugging a drive in backwards and killing the drive and motherboard. Heck most audio and USB front panel connectors are standard now. Trickiest part is the Power/HD/Reset/LED connectors and those are easy.

I have somebody but they really can't help because they work 24/7 and rarely have any free time. I might be able to get a tip if I ask really nice.

I just don't wanna think I bought all this stuff and I won't be able to do the build. I learn hands on so I thought hey how hard can it be.

It's really like snapping a bunch of pieces together. The hardest part is accepting that many pieces will need considerable force to snap in, and that the motherboard is built to handle such stress.

My advice? Do what you can to minimize static. Humidifying the room a little (not steamy like a shower, but with a room humidifier, if you've got one handy), making sure you're not building on carpet or wearing socks, and working over a non-conductive material like wood will help.
