I am having problem with my burner. I recently installed a Lite-On 40x12x48 and since my old memory had died on me, I upgraded to 512 MB. My problem is that when I burn something it takes forever, it seems to have trouble keeping the buffers full. It took 8 minutes to burn a 600mb disk. It was supposed to be burning at 40x, the cdrs that I am using are 48x capable, so that is not the problem. A friend suggested that the burner could be set to PIO mode instead of DMA, but when I go into the Device Manager, I do not get the Advanced tab in the burner properties that allows me to change this setting. Also when I go into the bios it only lets me choose automatic or normal in terms of DMA and auto and a choice of 1-5 in terms of PIO. Any suggestions on what to do? When I try and burn anything it really bogs down my computer, so I would like to get this issue resolved.
