i think i can safely say that 99% of the decisions he has made so far has been the wrong one.

i just wish we could somehow generate a bizarro bush that could somehow take over and undo everything bush has done so far.

i think the reason why people equate him with being dumb, is his child-like behavior. you call it straightforward, unwavering...the only people who are like this are either "special" people or children, who dont know any better, they dont really understand all the options, which is how bush comes off.

if you are an adult, you know that there are almost always compromises, and esp. someone of bush's stature should learn the art of diplomacy (which it seems as if he may be learning with his calls to convince neutral u.n. nations). you dont get someone to agree with you by saying they're your enemy if they dont agree right away, you work with them until they see your side, you remind them how much you have agreed on before and how important it is to you. if you shun and insult them immediately it wil be much much harder to get them to see your point of view --- that is why bush is the worst president...since ?

Really? How has 99% of what he has done been wrong? He took a nation that was in recession (very early stages of) and kept us afloat with minimal problems. Just because you don't see immediate results from his actions doesn't mean he made the wrong decisions. He is fighting for what he believes is right. That Iraq is a threat and is willing to jeopardize his political carrer to protect this nation from terror. I think he deserves a bit of slack.

see my edit above. he may be fighting for what he believes is right, but as president of the united states, i would hope that if he was trying to convince others to fight with him, he doesnt immediately estrange them as he did when they did not agree. that is one of the skills that a president should have, which i think bush entirely lacks. only blair and the spanish p.m. (already a friend of bush) have agreed with him.

yes, iraq is a threat, but i dont see him jeopardizing his political career over this, im pretty sure he will be reelected so long as the economy is not TOO bad.

you're right we won't see the immediate results of these deficits and the costs of the war until at least another five years, and then we'll really see the wrong path that bush took with his economic policies.

ilyria- It seems as if your highly "credible source" was wrong. You were wrong as well. Admit it and shut up. Thanks.

bush considers abraham lincoln to be one of his heroes, perhaps he should learn one of his famous quotes:

"a house divided against itself cannot stand"

no i am not saying the u.s. will fall, but i'm saying that bush has been more divisive than other president that i know of both with the u.s. and the world, and among americans. he is fighting for what he believes is right, but that doesnt make him right - and he should realize that.

I believe he is right in most of his decisions, so does most of the nation.

I believe he is right in most of his decisions, so does most of the nation.
Bush is still benefiting from the fallout of 9/11 which was the best thing that ever happened to his popularity. He hasn't done anything that anybody else in his position would have done.

I just wonder how many ilyriaisms there would be if you had most of what you say recorded by the media. I am on the phones 40 hours a week doing tech support and I screw up when I speak at least a couple times a day. I have also been wrong about the meanings or origins of words before. It doesn't prove anything about my intelligence just that I am human like most people.

i think xirtam was saying he found it funny, like a joke, and he didn't believe or care if bush said it.

Yeah. Sorry it was so unclear. I'd be careful about characterizing Bush opponents as being unintelligent though. I'm not a Bush opponent, but there are those times when I think I'd be more intelligent if I were.

ilyria - "As for the veracity of Bush's quote- it's unfortunate that it may be untrue. But at the same time- it's not unimaginable that Bush could have said this, which is in itself disturbing. "

So maybe you would like to edit the title of the thread? Maybe " Bushisms we would like to hear" or "Look what I made up?"
