Business Administration Jobs

I am about to start college after 5 years of being in the Marines as a telephone/computer technician and I want to major in Business Administration w/ a concentration in something. I was wondering what type of job I can get after my 4 year degree. I mean, I never hear about jobs hiring for "business administrators" or anything, so I'm curious as to what type of deal I can land...Will I end up being a manager at Taco Bell? I'm totally clueless about what kind of people hire in this job specialty, so any insight would be great. I'm just concerned about getting a job after school's out!

Business Administration is kind of the generic name for all business degrees. Unless you're going to get a general business degree (which almost no one does) you have to pick a field to concentrate in, such as accounting, marketing, or management.

Depends on what you like to do. You have many paths:

A. Business Analyst, IT consulting companies hire business savy people to work doing tasks like requirements gathering for large projects. All companies need people to analyze and track performance (gathering data, producing reports, etc)

B. Release Manager, assuming you specialize in Information Technology and / or Project Management... you could work coordinating software releases of development teams.

C. Accountant, assuming you lean more toward Financial matters.

It's not so much what particular degree you get, just that you get one. That is, unless you want to specialize in some field and go on to graduate school and beyond.
