I have a file and print server running Win2k Server, and would like to use this to run NAT to share our new broadband connection with the other PCs on the Network.
The cable modem assigns an IP address using DHCP to the NIC it's connected to. The IP is linked to the card's MAC address, so only one network card can use the connection. I've configured it to use my USB network card so I can move it to any PC, desktop or laptop.
The server had the USB NIC connected, and a cardbus 3-COM card. The problem is, the connection dies when the 3-com card is present. Both cards work, but the cable modem stops talking to everything else when the second network card is inserted. I'm guessing this is some kind of conflict within the OS, but can't think what.
Anyone had any similar experiences?
