Cable -----> Satellite Dish Question....?

Um.. okay, my guardian just switched from cable to satellite dish. So, now I cannot watch anything on the TV downstairs. So, what would I need to share their satellite service? A receiver that is right? Is this what I need?
Another question is that, will this receiver work with other services? The service right now is Canada's Bell Xpress View I think. So, if I move to States, will this receiver still work with the services down there?
One more question, can I hook this receiver to my computer? So, I can watch it on my system?

Im not sure if your system will work here in the states. DirecTv and Direcway are hogs and want you to use their systems.

satelite requires a seperate lnb head plus a seperate cable box for independant channels


the rest i cannot answer also i installed satelites but that was a few(7 to 8 years) ago and i am sure things have changed a lot since then
