For those who haven't heard, footstep sounds ARE being fixed. I think Kabob's post referenced it, but one of the YouTube commentators I watch confirmed it as well. According to a Twitter post from a Treyarch engineer says they tried to lower the footstep volume down to WAW levels, but I guess missed the mark? I don't know how you miss that in testing, but whatever.

Sound whoring will be back! And I'm thrilled - it got rather annoying being snuck up on just because the sound was off.

I finally found my "sweet spot" with a setup:

Lightweight Pro
Steady Aim Pro
Marathon Pro

AK-74u w/silencer
Ballistic Knife

Semtex, nova and claymore

I prefer to rush playing Domination and love the setup. The AK smg is very nice especially on the medium to smaller maps.

I'm gonna TRY to upload of a clip i TRIED to make on shitty theater mode...it's probably going to look like crap(and sound like crap also), which just completely screws up the sense of humor it's supposed to have.

Favorite map: Tough call...I'm going to say maybe Radiation or Villa? I like the medium sized maps because there is a lot of action, but not just chaos like nuketown.

Least favorite: easy- Jungle followed by Cracked. They are so big, with so many ways around that you're constantly getting shot in the back.

My favorite maps are jungle and Havana...nuketown is fun once in a while. Can't stand Cracked or Crises, and array.

Oh ya, Hanoi is pretty decent as well.

Nuketown is my favorite, because its small enough to have the run and gun guys get mowed down from my Stoner. And, if my team is full of the Rambo run and gun guys, I just sit in the back and wait for the other team to start spawning around me. Great map to just sit with your back against the fence killing people and taking out spy planes.

I haven't explored to many others, as most of the time Im playing headquarters because of how much XP you get from it. Once I get all the guns and junk Ill go back to doing team deathmatch and finding some good spots in maps.

I think I'm going to start playing some domination, which i haven't done before. Can you guys give me some tips on that mode? Perks/strategies, etc?

*shrugs* I seem to be getting plenty of people with the decoy. It's not the sound, it's that so many people just see a dot on the map and run for it. If I set a decoy I usually get 1 person looking for somebody.

Yep. I bait people all the time with the decoy and have it on all of my classes. People dont key in to the sound they key in to the red dot on their radar. If I take a position in a window and don't get any action from it I'll throw a decoy into my line of sight and voila... carnage.

I play about 60/40 TDM/Domination. The absolute key to winning every time is to get a good team. Going solo on Domination sucks because everyone does their own thing. Get a team who works together and communicates and it's infinitely easier. That's the biggest reason I've got a win ratio better than 3:1.

Other than that just have a good mix of roles: sprinters to capture flags, support guys with LMGs to put alot of fire on the enemy, etc.

favorite map: Nuketown, firing range
least favorite: Cracked, Hanoi

I only play TDM though, I hate playing objective modes with randoms.

Is it better to try to get all three flags, or just hold two? Is ghost useful for this game type?

Well it's "better" to hold all 3 but it's much easier to hold 2. If you hold all 3 it randomizes where the enemy is spawning, if you hold 2 they'll spawn near the flag that they don't hold typically. Also, the "A" and "C" flags are near the two starting spawn locations, "B" is always in no-man's-land. That's why you typically want only one or two guys to capture your spawn flag to start off and have the rest of your team push for "B."

Ghost is actually helpful because if you're using it the announcer will not announce when a point is being captured (that may just be Ghost Pro but I'm unsure).

Depends on your team. No matter what, you ALWAYS want B. Do NOT try and maintain an A & C capture. Too spread out and a coordinated opposition can take one easily.

Wow I didn't know that. Very cool. Might have to play me some Domination.

After reading some of BD2003's posts last week I decided to upgrade my network. I was running an aging D-link 524 that didn't have QoS. I have an 8 port patch panel in the basement and is where the router was located.

I bought a Netgear WNR3500L and slapped the Tomato/Teddy Bear mod on it. The Xbox sits in the DMZ and has top priority. I was already kicking ass online if I do say so myself but now I'm kicking super ass. Totally worth the upgrade. I also brought the Internet point of entry right into my office and all other ports on the board run off a Netgear switch.

the key word phrase is "do no try and maintain A & C" sometimes if you find your team holding only A, and B is locked down, you have to get C so that the opposing team will be forced to spread out in attempts to take one back, leaving B less defended.

Team coordination is a must on this game type, playing with randoms is not fun.

Nice, glad to hear it. How much did the wnr3500L run you? I was thinking of picking one up for the wireless-n and the internal gigabit.

are they going to fix the sound effect that your own footsteps make? That's the only reason I use ninja, it's one of the worst sound effects I've ever heard:

**silence**
**silence**
**silence**
**15 footstep sounds in 3 seconds***
**foot slushing through water**

and repeat

Agreeing with BD2003, setting up QoS is so important with FPS games. I plan on finally doing this at the end of the month by buying a Buffalo router and upgrading to Tomato. Pretty stoked.

Also...

Most Favorite maps: Hanoi, Nuketown, Grid
Least Favorite maps: Launch, Jungle

Yeah, the marker will still flash on everyone's HUD but you've got to A) be looking in that direction and B) notice the subtle flash, there's been plenty of times when an enemy took our flag and I didn't know until the deed was done.

Yeah, and I want to slightly change a setting I mentioned. Upon some further thought, you probably don't want to prioritize ACK and other flags, as setting the 360 to highest priority should do this already for traffic flowing from the 360. Doing it globally might push this overhead traffic from other IPs ahead of the 360. And I might be wrong on this, but online games usually use UDP, which doesn't even use these flags anyway.

I'm also fairly sure you don't want the 360 on the dmz. This will route all unsolicited traffic to it, which might clog out the data you actually want. As long as the correct ports are forwarded, this should be unnecessary anyway.

From watching the realtime bandwidth chart, it seems like CoD would still be playable on a 56k modem. Your ping would be terrible, but there is so little actual data being transferred, and it's extremely time sensitive, that every little thing you can do counts.
