I swear on both Hanoi and Jungle, and sometimes Array, the spy planes never show up. Damn it's irking me.

Still lame.

Your killstreaks are meaningless because there still needs to be someone risking their ass trying to plant the bomb, and that's still too rare. Killstreaks might get a lot of kills but theyre only on the map for mere seconds and then enemies respawned again. I don't care how much you think you're "helping" the team with your killstreaks, because simply put, a team focusing on the objectives vs a team farming killstreaks is going to win every single time. It's just incredibly frustrating to be the guy that actually wants to win when your entire team isn't willing to step out in the line of fire to back you up.

I wish they would make it so random kills just didn't count for anything in the objective modes. No XP, no k/d, not even keeping track. Anything to keep lame people like you away from what would be otherwise fun game modes.

It depends on the situation though. Like a chopper sitting right above one bombsite can help a lot. Napalm strikes and sentry guns can cut off enemy reinforcements. Only one person can plant the bomb, so usually the rest push forward to secure the time necessary to plant.

Yeah it's frustrating when your team completely ignores the last bombsite when you are on defense, but that doesn't really happen that much.

I rarely see the coordinated push forward and secure the area type of behavior in objective matches. I far more often see the hang back so I don't personally get killed type of behavior.

A little while ago in domination I got luckily placed on a team where a solid 3 out of 6 were more concerned with capping points than killstreaks and k/d. We ran circles around the other teams despite having negative k/ds and killstreaks constantly raining on us. Whatever occasional help a killstreak farmer might be in an objective game, someone focused on the objective is ALWAYS helping the team. And it's a team game first and foremost, but you couldn't tell that 90% of the time.

Even though people's selfishness is the easy thing to point the finger at, it really is just a flawed game design. The game simply promotes this bad behavior, and as long as it does, people will still go out of their way to play objectives like they're TDM.

A. You need to find a team to play with.

B. Pushing forward and capping all of the flags in a Dom game isn't always the best approach.

In Domination, it's usually best to cap and defend A and B or B and C. Never a good idea to try to get all 3. Why? Because it's easier to defend 2 spots and control the map, than to try to keep getting all 3 and having the enemy spawn all over the place. I would rather have a teammate sit back and camp C to make sure that they don't spawn behind us than have a teammate continue to rush A and boost the enemy.

it def best two hold down two spots. However trying to get people to do this is about near impossible. I wish more people on ps3 had mics. Maybe some orders would actually get done.

Sure, I understand that. I never cap the third flag. What I'm talking about is trying to cap the second flag while a teammate hides in a corner waiting to pick off the guy that inevitably kills me because I have no cover or I'm forced to stay on the flag for twice as long because he won't help cap it.

Sabotage is the WORST though. I swear every time I play that game mode 80% of people are simply not interested with having anything to do with the bomb. More often than not I hear complaints if I plant too soon cause they wanted to drag it out to farm kills instead of actually win.

There will always be douchebags that play a team game selfishly, it's just really annoying when they try to justify it as somehow being a positive thing.

They're there, sometimes they're just really hard to find. I was shooting down spyplanes and such yesterday, and finally got ghost pro again on this current prestige. A few of my other buddies were doing the same. We would both look up, and sometimes I couldn't find a thing, but he shot it down already... sometimes I'd see one that he couldn't find at all. ..etc.

I got lucky and joined a match yesterday though where my friends were on the other team. They kept spamming spyplanes for me to shoot down. Knocked down about 8 air units in that one match.

Well Domination is different. I tend to stay at just one flag the whole game if I can. The best strategy is only taking 2 flags, and my whole team inevitably heads to the next flag so I stick to one and wait for the other guys to try and take it. It's pretty effective, I get lots of kills and use my killstreaks to keep the other team at bay. Works like a charm.

Still can't find jack squat...I went out of town for a few days, and when I come back I can't connect to any games. Nothing changed on my network. Oh well. Back to MW2.

Yet again my reasons for not playing objective games with randoms were reinforced this morning. Played a game of Domination on Summit. It's still early in the game and we're down by 15 or so. We're holding "A", the other team has "B" and "C." We run in and take control of the middle building, two of us up high (myself included), three down low. Sweet, we're gonna capture "B" and catch up!

So I wait...and wait...and look down and there are 3 guys standing within 30 feet of "B" and not trying to capture it, they're camping! So I jump down and capture it by myself...

And of course, then the other team comes back, kills us all, and takes it again.

Stupid teammates...

I had the same problem yesterday, also on summit. I ended the game 41-19 with 5 captures & 5 defends, and we still lost by 25 or 30 points.

I also had my best TDM game ever last night, 40-6, again on summit.

Happens to me all the time! I will say though that of the objective based game types, domination is less affected by selfish play than say Demolition or a bomb placing type game.

i find if im in a game with teammates that do that. just do the same. you know its not going to work out so just go kill people.

i figure im not going to waste my time if no one is going to help.. i just float around and kill and if i see im near a capture point ill take it and then just roam some more.

I got a copy of black ops yesterday for $25 and while it still lags on PS3 it's not as bad as before I can actually play it now. I play alot of hardcore, mainly HC search, HC TD, and HC F4A but I will play all game types if I have someone to play with who isn't a douche bag.

Every game I played last night had some idiot blarring some kind of music, there was alot of muting goin on last night LOL,

Yep, and that's why in the end so few actually push the objective. Even those that care get frustrated, and everyone just diffuses responsibility to the rest.

I still think it's more of a failure of game design than human nature. It's still too productive to play selfishly in objective games. Personal goals can too easily take precedence. It's as if you got personal points for dribbling in a basketball game, and instead of everyone going for the hoop just stole the ball from each other to dribble it.

s&d really is the only objective where people play properly.

Anyone have a game end on a draw - with a score of 59-59? Nobody was able to take B, so it cancelled the game! HAHA
