My roommate got this through gamefly and we were bored so we just binged through the singleplayer on saturday and for a little bit on sunday. Veteran mode was a pain in the ass. It was kinda fun, but in some places really really frustrating.

ZERO recoil at range (with the grip), at one point we had every member of our team using it and we were steamrolling the other teams.

Seriously, give it a whirl, although be warned that it eats through ammo like crazy.

I tested it out earlier on, and hated it. Guess I'll give it another whirl. Have you tried the spectre yet? That thing is nice. Use it with extended mags and steady aim, it clears out rooms full of campers.

BTW, I watched your video, 3x huey on hanoi, and saw you destroying people with the AUG. Gave that a try myself, and it's similar to the famas, but seems a lot better. I used it to get my gunship contract yesterday.. lol

Steady aim is a solid choice with any SMG. Extended mags is a good choice due to the ridiculous 20 bullet mag, sleight of hand a good choice for the near constant reloading. Rapid fire also good for quicker kills while hip spraying. A grip can help with accuracy, but if you're trying to kill things a distance, you have much better choices than the mac11.

It's a solid weapon but that 20 round clip really hurts it, especially cause you get so little spare ammo. It's basically a spectre with much better irons, a lot less ammo, slightly faster weapon switch, slightly faster reload and slightly less zoom. None of that makes up for the small clip and lack of ammo IMO, but it still shoots bullets that kill people so you can't really go wrong with it. It's far better for spraying from the hip than actually aiming at people.

I was running Scavenger, Warlord Pro, and Marathon.

Attached were Extended Mags and a Grip (the later being more important).

I've used the Spectre, the Mac11 is MUCH better IMO.

What do you find so much better about it? They're so similar that if you swapped the few things that differed between them, hardly anyone would notice other than the iron sights and ammo.

I have been thinking about switching out Hardline Pro for Scavenger on my run and gun class. I find with the AK74u and Rapid Fire, I run out of ammo very fast.

scavenger is great for the smg classes for sure.

I find that I do better with it at range, I know their specs are identical but who knows. In the same way the AK47 and Commando's specs are identical and I do much better with the later.

I actually play fundamentally different with the AK47 than I do the Commando, due to using the AK so much in CoD4.

I played through the campaign. Pretty awesome effect, especially when looking down the sight, but the frame rate drops to 30fps or so. Even though thats a pretty standard frame rate for game, it really shows you how important 60fps really is.

Eurogamer claims the 360 performs slightly better in 3D mode, similar to the performance difference in 2D mode. Not going to perform great on either though.

for some reason starting today.. black ops wont load past the title screen. it starts to load and then the entire ps3 freezes.. i tried deleting all the game date etc.. and i reinstalled the 1.05 patch and it still freezes the entire ps3.. i cant find anything on google...

any ideas?

Wow, so I just played a few games with Scavenger (haven't unlocked pro yet; waiting on picking up 150 packages...). I am really liking it. I kind of miss rerolling care packages, but I might just switch it to counter spy plane and call it a day.

I'm really not a fan of scavenger. It only really helps out in fringe situations. You might be constantly filling ammo, but 9/10 times I die before I run through all my spare clips, so it makes little difference. And even then, I've got both a secondary and the ability to pick up other weapons off the floor. The other perks are far more universally useful. Ghost is always keeping you hidden, flak jacket always protecting against constant explosives, lightweight always making you faster and hardline can net you a near constant spy plane feeds. With any of those things, you might actually stay alive.

so i finally got the game working last night.... took around 45 minutes

once on I proceeded to try the Kabob Mac11..
Kudos to you.. I had so much fun running around spraying.. lol.. people must be annoyed with an idiot running around with a mac11.


I ran scavenger, warlord(would SOH or steady aim be better? -- how is steady aim vs grip?), second chance( i was trying to get pro -- prolly switch to marathon or hacker next time)


Best game I had was 42-6 on summit.

I like Warlord over Steady Aim or SoH, but that's just me. Try different setups and see what works for you!

I agree with Kabob's mac11 class, we completely dominated when we all ran that class on monday. It was a lot of fun, too
