Call of Duty Frame Rates

Am I the only one that is scared when looking at the frame rates for Call of Duty 2 Demo? I mean the 7800GTX, a card that hasnt been out a good three months, barely being able to reach 30 fps? I know cards are considered old when they leave the factory gate, but putting down fat $500 for a card that only performs @ 30 fps on a new game seems like something is very wrong. Could it be that driver optimisation would raise this significantly, or is the 7800gtx simply not able to pump out a decent framerate. Would going SLI with 2 7800GTX's help much? What are your views on the way current and coming generation games seem to strangle current hardware?

First if you saw someone run the game and it gave them 30 frames it could just mean he run it ultra resolution and ultra aaf. It run fine on my 6800 a little laggy but fine none the less. And since just a demo they probaly still have bunch of fixing the game dont worry just get the 7800gt or the 7800gtx

probably the software, or drivers used. hopefully when the game comes out, issues will be resolved.

If you're running 1600x1200 8x AA/AF with all the eye candy turned on, then there might be a bit of cause for concern. Maybe they're not done optimizing the graphics or something.

If it's 800x600, then you've got a problem.

I haven't run the game yet (still waiting for some parts to arrive for my new rig) but I read the ATI 1000 Series reviews today, and was amazed at the crappy framerates listed for what are supposed to be high-end parts......here's hoping driver support will bump framerates to at least about 50 on 1280x1024 with eye candy turned on.
