Hmm. Cheap cars? Then why is it Land Rover had horrible reliability until BMW took over and put their powertrains into them? Sure its capable off-road, that I cannot dispute. What good does it do you if it quits out there? And why is that that there are far more Hondas floating around with 200k on the clock then VW's? And why does it seem like German cars tend to disappear after 5-7 years? How many 1990 model year BMW's and Mercedes do you see floating around? I see alot of 190E's around and one looks worse then the next.

And finally. If Japanese cars were so chintzy why do they dwarf German cars in sales? VWs are about the same price as a lot of mainstream Japanese cars. If they're so wonderful why are the sales numbers so pathetic?

EDIT: Forgot to mention how Lexus' sales figures dwarf German makes as well.

VW's are expensive and unreliable. Search for "VW" and you'll see plenty of threads backing that statement up. Do a search for "Honda" and tell us how many you come up with. Oh... the earlier Ludes were because they were my training wheel (high school class of 93 yay yAY). The later Ludes, some crashed (late night TJ trips) and one traded.
To those who say that Hondas are shietty cars, pull heads out of ass and take a good look at what the Honda has been, is and will be. Don't base your opinion on 95 horse power riced out civics... because after all, the Benz E190 isn't exactly a great car for the money.

That generation of Prelude has a pretty poor reputation. Apparently it wasn't as well engineered as other Honda models. As much as like the way the 91 'Lude looks I'll prolly never have one. Granted, that isn't the reason cr4zymofo went through so many of them.

And Oldsmoboat, I pretty much agree with M4H that technology makes horsepower more easily then displacement. How else do you explain big block V8's under 200 horses and 2L 4 bangers with 200.
