Can anyone guess my problem?

I just recently bought a new A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard, AMD Athlon XP 2700+ Processor and case with a 350W TurboLink Powersupply included. Once I had constructed the computer I had two blue LED fans only. The computer ran fine for a couple of days until my two Cathode UV lights came. I installed the lights and the computer ran fine for a couple of days. Then, one I was playing a game, my computer power flickered and died. When I turned the computer back on, the activity lights and my front Light Tubes failed to light up. As well, my computer did not boot up. The monitor screen remain dead without activity and there were no sounds of the computer starting up. I thought I had blown the power supply but upon inspection there were no burn marks. I checked my processor as well for burn marks and found none. Just to make sure it was the power supply that was the problem, I bought a new ThermalTake 480W PurePower. I installed the PS and started the computer up. The front light tubes lit up and all the fans worked including my processor fan (which had worked with the old PS too) and the activity LEDs lit up and stayed a solid color (didn't blink). My CD rom drive LEDs lit up and everything seemed normal, except that my monitor remained blank and there were no post beeps or start up procedures at all. Is my processor shot? Or is my mobo shot? If anyone could tell me what the problem is I would deeply appreciate it!

Unplug the Hard drive and see if it will POST, then plug the HDD back and see if it will post, that's a first step, then just go thru POSTING
the system one step at a time, with certain components unplugged, cdrom, dvdrom, floppy, and then switch the RAM around, and just go thru everything thing until you have either switched eveything around or tried booting, posting with all the apps uninstalled, installed, then make sure you check all wires plugged into the board are ok, and even switch them around going from a primary IDE slot to a secondary, and etc.. so on. The thing is you just need to go thru what I would call basic trouble shooting steps if you follow me, and after all this you still can't boot then something is for sure fried. Good luck.

hard to say, any one of your components could have shorted when the psu went out. if there are no beeps or startup, i would suspect the RAM, CPU or mobo.

you do not need anything besides ram, cpu and mobo to post... (though a graphics card is useful) if the comp will not post, it is one of the three.

Sorry about that last blank post...

Another question...

What are the possiblities that I have a bad processor or I burnt my processor out? Because it might have been an electrical problem, is it possible that my BIOS got flashed or my CMOS battery is bad or burnt out? I have tried POST testing my computer and i don't get anything... No beeps or anything. When I turn my computer on, all of my lights and fans come on. My CD Roms drives come on and the lights on the motherboard are lit up. So far, I am beginnig to think I either burnt my processor or it was faulty... but I don't know. Would taking out my CMOS battery help? I have checked all of my components and there aren't any burn marks. All activity LEDs come on but there is no "activity" happening.

As DasFox said above, unplug everything except the RAM, CPU (including the fan) and video card. It does not matter if you CD-ROM drive lights up if you get nothing on the screen. Go back to square 1. If it still does not work, then you have narrowed it down to three things. If you have multiple memory modules, remove one, then swap them if you are still having problems.... continue with trouble-shooting

hop on ebay and search for "pci post" and get a cheap pci post card that will (given your PC will power on) a HEX readout of what the problem is, you dont need a video card (tho boot will halt when looking for a video card)

Alright, I narrowed the problem down.

My friend brought his AMD computer over and we swamped processors. My AMD 2700 worked in his computer and his AMD 1400 didn't work in mine. When we swamped them back, his AMD 1400 worked in his comp and my AMD 2700 remained dead. As well, I put a stick of my RAM into his computer and it worked fine. So that narrows it down to the motherboard. I am getting power to the motherboard because the motherboard LEDs work and my processor's fan turns on. Yet, I still do not have any post code beeps or video on the screen. What could be my problem now? Could my BIOS have been erased?

Similar scenario happened with my sisters PC a while back. Power supply went and took out the motherboard, video card, hard drive and cdrom drive. CPU and memory were fine, but basically everything else was toast. Hard drive would try and spin...but just klunked loudly. CD drive lights worked and I thought it was fine, but when I put it in another machine, it couldn't read anything. Video card was also dead when tried in another machine.

My guess is you need to start looking for a new motherboard.....and keep your fingers crossed that nothing else is fried.

Sorry man...I feel your pain.
