I don't think there has been any documented proof towards this....if anything, it just causes the woman to relax, which in many cases can help induce labor.

Okay: No where is it mentioned MEDICALLY as a method of inducing labor. However, when a woman orgasms, her uterus contracts....hence the notion of inducing labor.

Some doctor do not recommend sex that close to delivery, others say go for it as long as you are comfortable....maybe someone out there should do some hard core research - peer reviewed and not just internet - on this topic!

Yes, there is a hormone in the seminal fluid that induces labor. They have a synthetic version of the hormone to help women get things going.

My wife and I had some great sex the night she went into labor. She was a month early.

To answer the original question of this thread, I do know from basic high school health classes that you are not supposed to have sex in the 3rd trimester. It's ok to have sex in the first two unles bleeding occurs or a white foamy liquid starts coming out. If that happens you are supposed to stop. I don't remember why either of these reasons were taught to us then(about 4 years ago), but I do remember being taught that.

Oh...and fyi, there's a reason babies have soft spots on their heads j/k

according to sex with sue it does.

(sue johanson (sp?) is our 'sexpert' she has her own tv show and used to have a radio call in show and she goes all over the country as a guest speaker... oh and shes over 50 years old hehe)
