...if you plug in the 12V CPU power backwards? (don't ask how ) I believe the black wires were plugged into where the yellow wires were supposed to go.
The orientation was such that pin 1 went into the pin 4 socket on the motherboard.
The computer would start up for a split second then stop. The cpu fan would only make one revolution before stopping. I can't power the PC without physically turning the PSU off and on again. I tried resetting CMOS. Breadboarding...
When I swapped power supplies, the pc was able to power up. All the fans, Hard drives, keyboard, mouse, stays powered on. But, there would be no signal to the monitor. (using no discrete graphics card. ) I tried using a discrete graphics card but still no signal.
Is there any hope? Can the psu be damaged that way or would a fault in the psu cause issues? is the apu a goner? Is there any way to test for a dead processor? I get no beeps from the speaker. Is the motherboard ok since it seems like everything is being powered properly? Should I try resetting CMOS again?
I got this motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130662
and this PSU

and an A6 5400K (RIP?)
Thanks!
